70 to 80 kids? We are not division 1. That will never happen on a regular basis. You cant possibly expect every class to have 20 kids that play football. Last year the eight grade had 24? I don't care what school your at, your never going to keep every single kid out for All four years of highschool football. Hell many of the Jr high kids are just feeling out the sport to see if they like it or not. If you have 15 by the time they graduate you are doing good. Just because there are 24 in eight grade doesn't mean there will be 24 as freshmen. This isn't just a clear fork problem, hell its not even a football problem. It happens in every sport, every school, every state. Man, some of you need to get out of the valley and observe a little more of the outside world. Is not the coaches fault clear forks numbers are down. So stop blaiming him for the low numbers.

I'm hoping that all of this interest and opinions will turn into positive support for the kids and the staff, who truly are working the butt off.

That sounds about right for the 8th grade last year. It was a lower numbers year. CF typically would have 40 kids start in 7th grade then in the 20's for the frosh team. Most classes had less than 15 seniors if I'm remembering correctly.

Also to touch on that other subject you said:

Wrestling is a individual sport, it's not a Team sport like Football.... I would agree Wrestling is demanding in conditioning but your only going 3 minutes at a time, where in football there are 48 minutes (high school) and it's more mentally straining than physical. Soccer aswell is less demanding and less mentally challenging than Football, That's why Everyone play's it.

There's a reason why successful coaches all have said "This is a Grown Man sport of Gladiators" you have to sacrifice so much of your body and mind in this sport. If your not mentally strong how can you remember all the plays? All of your Task's during the game? Read and React? Keeping your head on a swivel so you don't get blind sided?

These are just a few things football does to the mind and body and requires a lot of time and dedication to hone these skills and develop the right mind set.

90% Mental 10% Physical

Pf 04, Wrestling is much more demanding than football. Most of the 48 minutes in football is standing in a huddle. The actual time "playing " football is around 15 minutes a game. Those 6 minutes of hell in wrestling is just what it implies. Might this be the year that Senior actually might beat CF in football? Hmmm. I hope things work out in the Valley.

Like I said, I know wrestling is very physically demanding and conditioning is everything but it's 1 on 1.

When your on a football field there's 22 people flying around the field

see what I mean?

Football is a team sport and there are more that goes along with it than wrestling

Some may say that in an individual sport you are alone in the trenches of combat while in a team sport you have teammates to rely on. Specific to Football the eyes of the coach, staff and fans are on the play at the time while in wrestling all eyes are on you.

PrideFan04- At this point some of us could care less your true identity. I am concerned that these posts are going to shut this thread down soon though. But your last post concerns me the most out of the handful that you have typed that have yet to be deleted by the moderator. You are over whelmed by the apparent "Bashing" of the Head Coach. When most of us simply stated that a whole lot of kids are not playing because they do not like him for a multitude of reasons. These are the kids talking when you ask them why are you not playing football anymore. But yet you have had no issues throwing a few former players under the bus by discussing their personal issues on this very forum. You bashed kids, but yet defended the coach. That is pretty low if you ask just about anyone. If you want it fair for one, you should do the same for everyone. The sad thing about this whole situation is that it could have been avoided and not gotten to this point if one man would change just the way he deals with some of the players. It is a simple fix, but I bet you it will never happen.

"A man never stood taller, than when he stoops to help a child". My apologies to the person who actually made this quote for I can not give them the credit they so deserve. But it does have some bearing in my opinion to what is being discussed.

also in football you have 10 other guys to bail you out.see what i mean!wrestling is by far a harder sport just ask the football team what they think when they see the wrestling team doing a cross fit workout or better yet ask the football players that also wrestle which is harder and with out any question they will say wrestling hands down.

Last time I checked they keep team scores in wrestling. Its by far harder. I will admit your body is more sore after a football game but their is nothing more tough then wrestling
