No one stated it was Obama, but who do the lawyers support and get rich off of. Why we can't get tort reform. Who do the unions support that make it very difficult or sometimes impossible to get ride of these type of employees. One party is responsible and it doesn't start with an R.

we'll raise taxes, cut the military, and everything will fall neatly in place. -

I almost look at this issue from two perspectives. First if the Government is going to give billions and billions and billions and billions and billions and billions of dollars to illegals then why shouldn't a tax paying American citizen try to get a slice of this pie!
Secondly, just as Doctor's are overprescribing OxyContin for every minor ache and pain that can be dealt with over the counter pain meds, they are writing and approving these applications. Myself, I have five herniated disc in my back, both shoulders have either labrum or rotator problems and just this year I've developed Benign Positial Vertigo. ( now that will put a damper on your activities) Even so, I try to get in 25-40 miles a week, ,lift light weights, never exceding 200 lbs and exercise. The only medication I take is Tetracycline for Rosacea. I will be 62 in Oct. I don't need disability SS and neither do hundreds of thousands or millions of Americans that are receiving it.

An example that I am aware of is a 52 year-old male who just received disability now plays golf daily. If that doesn't upset you I don't think anything will. The citizens DO pay for this and the system is not solvent into the future as this involves both Social Security and Medicare. Be There you are either uninformed or just like to argue.

i like to argue. to do so i must take a contrary position to yours...
most golfers are middle-aged white males. most middle-aged men are likely to be romney supporters. most golfers are liars. therefore your slacker golfer is likely a middle-aged white male who is fated to vote for romney and just shot three holes-in-one on the back nine.

Why do you feel the need to generalize and paint with a brush as wide as a billboard? Incredible.
For your information, the only person that has publicly pronounced his ability to produce multiple holes-in-one was the King of the Communists, Kim Jong Il. He hardly meets your picture of a Romney-backin middle-aged white guy, eh?

Despite any disagreements I may or may not have with his arguments, I have a new level of respect for bethere based upon his inclusion of the Monty Python picture.
Angry man: WHADDAYOU WANT?
Man: Well, Well, I was told outside that...
Angry man: DON'T GIVE ME THAT, YOU SNOTTY-FACED HEAP OF PARROT DROPPINGS!
Man: What?
A: SHUT YOUR FESTERING GOB, YOU TIT! YOUR TYPE MAKES ME PUKE! YOU VACUOUS TOFFEE-NOSED MALODOROUS PERVERT!!!
M: Yes, but I came here for an argument!!
A: OH! Oh! I'm sorry! This is abuse!
M: Oh! Oh I see!
A: Aha! No, you want room 12A, next door.
I see so many parallels to this forum. Well played, sir.

Sometimes I wonder why I even bother working. My taxes keep going up, future tax increases are inevitable, and my benefits stay the same.
Our company currently has over 135 positions that we are hiring for that make around 40-50k per year. We are having issues finding even marginally qualified candidates because what's the point in working when you can sit at home all day and still get paid?
I'm starting to think the best option would be just too quit work, find as many women as I can and have as many babies as I possibly can. More babies = more money, and I wouldn't have to pay any taxes. Sounds awesome.

LOL SSI is the biggest scam in the modern world.
Funding for SSI becomes more stressed each year.
Yes the government will make the commitments.
But how?
1. People my age will be told, ok now you guys dont get your "benefit" until you are 70. Hoping you die before then, which of course is a plus for USAM.
2. Just print money. ever heard of QE1, QE2?
3. raise SSI tax on income. Great! So now I have to pay more into a benefit that I will never see.
Gotta love the fools with their heads in the sand cough..bethere..cough.
The system will crash eventually. When this ride is over it is going to get extremely ugly.

70% of initial ssdi claims are denied on the first round. those that appeal that decision have an 80% rejection rate at the next round. to go the next route requires a hearing in front of a judge can take up to 3 years. I imagine most of the people on disability have "earned" it.
Of course you can simply look at those individuals who have beaten the system and decry the whole process if you want. Seems petty to me.

How about this : Businesses can apply for a waiver that allows their 50 % input placed into a private interest bearing account that is tied to a specific individual under a specific SSI #..............and when the company files bankruptcy, the assets become theirs.....just like pension plans [ schmirk ].SSI,like big government, were never a problem until Newt's global economy came along.Solution : A public referendum that mandates everyone joins SSI.If someone within government has the right to argue for comparable wage,we should stick with the apples to aples approach all the way through.Disability payments are scrutinized....unless it is a psychiatrist witnessing.A company won't hire a mental nut that might go postal on fellow workers.
