Default Marietta College? - 04-14-2012, 04:01 PM

Are they better than last years Div.III national Champs????

They swept Heidelberg today 5-3, and 13-2 to improve to 22-4 on the season, and 9-1 OAC.

Very good pitching, and solid defense. only weak spot might be in the hitting department.

Whats the other conf. teams have to offer?

MC split with JC Sunday, winning the first game 3-2 in ten innings, then dropping the second 8-2.

My omen about the MC hitting reared its ugly head in the first game as the Pioneers only managed four hits in the ten inning game.

Marietta travels to Wooster tomorrow (Wed.) for a single nine inning game.

Marietta is very solid. I don't think they'll lose a tournament game until the College World Series. They might go undefeated there, too.

Marietta beat St. Vincent 15-2 this evening.
St. Vincent falls to 20-14 on the season

Marietta pounded out 22 hits, including a school record 11 doubles and one round tripper.
Evan Brockmeier was five fro five with two doubles and four runs scored.
MC had eleven players with at least one hit.

So much for my doubts about their hitting.

Marietta beat Musingum 16-5.

Both teams played lots of reserves that don't usually see much playing time.

As both teams have important confrence games tomorrow, no starting pitchers played today.
