rmolin73 what planet do you live on? reiser had plenty of discipline but both players and parents resisted it plus the administration would not support the coaches. pretty much a don't bother us attitude. this season is do whatever you want so everyone(almost)is happy. ALL that was said about the team this past season is true and there's a lot more. a lot of die-hards quit attending the games because they couldn't stomach what they saw. you obviously know very little about what goes at SHS. why do you care anyway? aren't you a big whitmer fan now???

Alot of what was said is true about what went on @ Springfield this year. I have been around Springfield for over 10 years now and Coach Reiser and most other coaches have always had the Admins support, sometimes even when they prob. should'nt have.

NLL Ram

In recent years the coaches(SHS)have not been supported under certain, specific circumstances. It would not be politically correct to be specific even though those things should probably be said. Someday when I retire I will better describe the situation but I have kids in college.

Obviously the best coach in the league as of now is undisputed, Dave Boyce of Perrysburg. Then I think its really a toss up from 2 on out.
Perrysburg...Somehow Boyce manages to keep his team in the top 3 year in and year out even though they dont always have better than average talent.

Rest in no order....

BG...They have had many goodseasons under Graffin including last year, but when you have as much talent as he did its pretty hard to mess that up.

Napoleon...First year in the league they went 13-1 but again he has Lauf and Myles so next year when Myles is gone will probably give a better idea of the coaches ability. Also IMO the league was somewhat down.

A-W...Very good first season. The new coach did what the old one wouldnt and put Donnal down low and used his outside players well. Again possibly the best or atleast top 3 player helps.

NV...I think NV's coach has been doing a very good job despite their overall record. Other than Hartnett and Ricicot NV didnt have much last year but were able to get a solid amount of wins with a young roster.

SV...The tourney run was impressive but the season was not, especially when a league title was a possibility going into the year and an experienced roster. Jump has had a few very good seasons but with the amount of talent at SV I tend to expect more.

Springfield...Frst season for Joplin and I dont know that I expected more or less. The team had very few upper classmen and not many skilled players...but that partially has to do with the best 2 seniors transferring out. Next year they will improve but I dont expect anything drastic.

Maumee...Scheridan has now completed 4 seasons at Maumee and the team is about where expected every year. He hasnt pulled a boyce and won a remarkable amount for the teams skill set (though he has beaten boyce, something no other maumee boys coach had ever done) or lost his team numerous games when they should have been better. Imo thats what a solid coach is, not good or bad but solid.

1. Perrysburg 2. Napoleon 3. AW 4. Northview 5. Southview 6. Maumee
7 (tie) BG and Springfield.

Hey Ross Ford81:

If your recent post about NLL coaches refers to their ability to coach, you have hit the nail right on the head. If he stays in the business, the AW coach(can't remember his name) will give numbers 1 and 2 a run for their money in the future.

Couple quick points -- I agree Ross's list is good if this is about getting the most out of the players you have and as long as you take into consideration all of their years (some cases more than 10, some cases 1 year) in the NLL.
Might have BG up to No. 6 and it is so hard to tell with Joplin at Springfield. What a mess and then made worse by the Alexander move (I mean change of school).

are you kidding "undisciplined" under Reiser. you've got to be kidding. he was the most disciplined coach in the league. why do you think Alexander left to go to Whitmer? as for Joplin he has a poor track record......fired from alma matter Toledo and 0-18 at Start. He was lucky to win 4 games this tear and won't win 4 games next year. 0-13 to finish this year.hhhmmmmm

Alexander left primarily to improve his chances to play college football. I don't think any coach could have kept him attending Springfield.

I think people understand that Joplin didn't have the same talent level as reiser had the year before. But the level of class has dropped off faster than the talent. My favorite was seeing his son on the bench in sweats and a hat texting during the.game. People who couldnt handle some discipline cried enough and now the program has gone backwards fast. I used to go to sprinfield games just to see teams play hard and as a team, I stopped going after the embarrassment at bg. Now I think aw is the team to watch if you want to see things done right.

I agree Boyce is the best, he is close to one of the best ever in the league in my opinion. Nll- I was at the game with Joplin jr on the bench, on the cell phone. I liked him standing with the coaches during the national anthem, looked great!

I think people are taking my undiscipled comment the wrong way. What I meant was they havecalways had disciple issues but the previous coach kept it in check. h2o's comment is what I'm getting at.

Obviously Borcherdt (not sure on spelling) did a great job at A-W this year but honestly I think it had more to do with how poorly the previous coach did. The team last year was about as good as this years roster and should have been successful as well. The big test is coming in 2 years when the very good junior class departs from A-W, although they seem to have skilled players in every class right now.

I agree about AW. You might argue that with conklin AW might have had more actual talent last season. They made a huge coaching upgrade. Are there any coaching changes in the nll this offseason? Doesn't seem like there would be any this year.

2011 I agree Conklin was a huge loss but the younger players stepped in this year and did very well, you could argue the younger players wouldnt have been as good if not for the new coach but I dont know enough about A-W's program at the lower levels to be sure.

Joplin was hired strictly by the Principal Gwin (good ole Toledo Rocket Boys)....Joplin and Cross have been gone for over four and two years at the University of Toledo, but there wonderful legacy (sarcasm) is still effecting the Basketball program with its poor grades and undisciplined programs when they were in charge. The B-Ball Men’s program has been stripped of three games and no post season tournaments for 2013.

Prediction: Joplin will coach one more year then he will quit "I need to spend more time in my Administration job at Springfield"
