just saw this on another site...I know radiodavel has an issue with them, but there are some valid points to be considered. The ways things are going, you never know...don't see it taking place though

Should Kenton have explored the BVC?

Maybe football excluded...Kenton would be a perfect fit for the BVC. Look what a change did for Coldwater and Delphos St John's when they left the WBL for the MAC

With schools like Ada and Riverdale being rumored for the BVC, Kenton would give that Hardin County addition.

Kenton is very competitive with area schools and the change would help the Wildcats on travel and gas cost...

Maybe, but as long as they're at or near the top of the WBL standings in football, they'll never move. That conference and its teams' sizes and performances help Kenton big time with Harbin points.

it will be real interesting to see how football does this season after the Coach's son is gone. I guess it is to bad a sport is so good the others have to suffer. With so many changes going on and the gas prices rising, a lot of schools are looking at other options.

Does Coldwater continue playing Kenton in FB in the future or is that contract done...especially with the travel costs

Beyond the 2012 season, I have no idea. I'd say we'll try to lock something up with them for at least a few more seasons, but I don't know for sure.

with Ada looking at the BVC...Kenton would be a good fit for the NWC...every sport (excluding football) would benefit from the move, plus how long with the Wildcats last being Mauk-less

This would be a bad move for Kenton and a bad fit for the BVC.

The NWC could maybe be a possibility in the future if they don't remain competitive in football in the WBL. They're way too big for the BVC though. But considering they're going on 15+ years without a losing record in the league, and most of those years they were Mauk-less, I wouldn't bet against them. I expect them to still be in the top half of the league for at least the next few years. After that, who knows. They're about due for a down period.

"Kenton is too big for the BVC"

I respectively disagree with comment. Kenton is not way too big. Liberty-Benton is getting almost as big as Kenton now and LB needs a school their size to balance them out.

Additionally, Kenton does not have a high number of students that play sports within the school, thus making them seem smaller than they actually are. Outside of football (which is on the decline) and occasionally in other sports (basketball, track, etc...) they are not dominate against the BVC schools when they play.

So, yes, I truly believe Kenton along with Ada would be a great fit into the BVC. Just imagine, Liberty-Benton, Kenton, Hopewell-Loudon, Ada, McComb, Leipsic, Pandora, Van Buren, Arlington, etc..

This now, would be a very respectable conference.

^^^ Kenton is a year in year out contender for the D4 playoffs, no way the HN, Vanlues and Cory Rawsons, who are barely fielding a D6 team would vote them in. Maybe Kenton would be a good fit in the other sports, I have no idea on this, but in football, no way, no how that it would be a good fit.

So, the conference should be based on what 3 teams think and add a weak opponent? How would this help the league?

LB is not almost as big as Kenton. There is about a 60 boy difference. Not really close.

I just don't feel that Kenton would dominate as mush as some seem to fear they would.

Why would Kenton want to play Vanlue, Hardin Northern, Cory Rawson, Arcadia, and now North Baltimore? It seems that they maybe they should aim a bit higher and at schools more their own size. I don't think it would be just 3 schools voting no, I don't see any of the BVC voting Kenton in. They would dominate football, not so much the other sports, but other than football and Basketball who cares about the other crap. The current BVC girls teams could more than hold there own with Kenton's girls sports so no problem there. I just don't see this happening any time soon. (maybe Ada not Kenton)

So this means that they should play Vanlue, Hardin Northern, Arcadia, Cory Rawson and North Baltimore so they can win something?
