Coaches,
As we approach the end of the school year, and we are truly immersed in our off-season program, I would like to take the opportunity to invite you and your players to the third annual Lucas Cubs Strongman – Team Competition. We will be accepting the first 30 teams to register for the event. A competition team consists of 5 players. The entry fee for each 5 member team will be $50.00. This years competition will be on Saturday May 5, 2012. This event is not limited to linemen; it is 5 member teams made up of the best athletes when it comes to strength, stamina and muscular endurance, as well as a touch of agility and quickness. The competition will provide an excellent opportunity for your athletes to compete and build team unity while spring boarding them into your summer programs. The athletes will compete in each of the following 12 events:
Tractor Tire Flip
Tire Toss
Prowler Sled Push
Bench Press (135 lbs. Repetitions to Failure)
Pull Ups
Tug-a-war
Sledge Hammer Hold
Weighted Sled Drag
Farmers Walk
Medicine Ball Throw
Log Press
Lucas’s version of the Atlas Stones
The top 3 teams in the overall competition will be awarded trophies. In each event first through third place teams will receive medals for that event.
There will be t-shirts available for sale commemorating the event as well as concessions. Event check-in will begin at 8:30a.m. And the competition will begin at 10:00a.m. A coaches meeting will take place at 9:30a.m. All competition events will take place at Bob Wine Field in the Lucas Football Stadium. Family members and fans are encouraged to attend - $3.00 for Adults / $2.00 for students.
Registrations Forms and Competitor Liability Releases should be completed for each 5 member team and returned with a check for the $50.00 participation fee per 5 member team by Saturday April 28, 2011. All checks should be made out to LUCAS FOOTBALL.
