Richland Co. League (already being talked about, supposed meeting between these schools Feb. 1)
Ashland, Lexington, Mansfield Madison, Galion, Shelby, Ontario, Mansfield Sr. and Clear Fork

NOL/SBC Merger
Big: Columbian, Clyde, Perkins, Norwalk, Sandusky, Vermilion
Small: Bellevue, Willard, Huron, Edison, Oak Harbor, PC

The Big 12
Tiffin Calvert, Sandusky St. Mary, Woodmore, Lakota, Fremont St. Joseph, Margaretta, Hopewell-Loudon and Gibsonburg (**Old Fort, Bettsville, New Riegel and St. Wendelin - non-football sports. Most of these schools play each other any way in current league format or NL games.)

North Baltimore to the TAAC, which probably suits them better, to replace Gibsonburg

NBC is left with an opening to replace Woodmore. Other than that, all schools searching for a league are taken care of assuming Upper Sandusky gets voted into the MOAC.

The NOL/SBC can do have to league champions in football with two NL crossover games between rivals and three traditional NL games.

The Big 12 essentially keeps the same amount of travel for the MAL schools as what they have now. SMCC and Margaretta assume travel, but will play schools their own size.

Not bad but explain to people in Castalia why they are being kicked to the curb in the Sandusky Bay Conference. I would imagine that the Polar Bear supporters wouldn't be so excited for this.

Agreed and I also don't believe SMCC is headed anywhere but the SBC

Bucyrus has pulled a shocker and NOT joined the N10

Bucyrus was suppose to join the Northern 10, but tabled the move
at the Board of Education tonight. The Board will now have to make a
decision at the February meeting of what direction they will go.

The Board did opt out of the NCC ending with 2013-14 school year.

They had been looking at several other options.

This potential "Richland County League" seems like it's gonna happen. Going more toward NE Ohio, I wish I knew what Orrville, Wooster and West Holmes were planning/thinking, and if Lucas and Loudonville are going to make a push to join the Firelands Conference together.

If Orrville's looking to save on travel, would they seriously consider the Wayne County Athletic League? Throw in Triway and make it an even 10? I would think a league involving Orrville, Wooster, West Holmes, Northwest & Barberton (two nearby independents), as well as considering nearbys like Triway and Cloverleaf (or some Portage Trail/PAC-8 schools) might be in consideration as we speak. Nobody's talking about that yet and it's driving me a little nuts. :)

Wow....where is Bucyrus going to go then? Northern 10 is best bet for them...Hank, I like your setup in NW Ohio. The leagues need to all get together and do what makes sense for all.

Bucyrus is going to end up in the N10. I don't think they can afford not too from a gate and travel prospective. But I don't blame them for finding out what the exact terms and ties are to the conference. This could be where that $100K penalty for leaving talk plays into effect.

This Richland County League would stink. I don't like it at all. In basketball Sr. High would win every year save for years that Ashland, Madison or Lex has a really great team. I think the OCC is fine the way it is.

How is that different than it is in the OCC with Senior and basketball? lol

And Mansfield Senior would not win a Championship in any other sport.

Honestly I can't see where this possible Richland County League is a whole lot different than the current OCC. Orrville is probaby better overall than Shelby, but there aren't massive differences between Wooster, West Holmes, Galion and Ontario.

All these new leagues and not one of them want to include Marion Harding.

Vermilion is D4 in football, Bellevue D3. They are in the wrong divisions at the top of the page.

Vermilion is D3 in football. They have 296 boys in top 3 grades. D3 is 326 to 243. They're closer to to D2 than D4.
