Great showing against a bottom feeder in a bad conference, Urban Meyer can't start soon enough!

i knew when we only scored a fg we lost our secondary is terrible and let a team like Wisconsin that scored 62 on this team win after blocking a game winning extra point pisses me off we lose to this terrible team but beat Wisconsin....

New HC??? How about a new qb. I don't see how anyone thinks Miller is going to be any good? maybe by his senior year he may turn out to be descent. But this guy will never be as good as Pryor. He can run but is a terrible passer unless something breaks down and a receiver sneaks open, other than that he can't hit anyone and obviously has no vision or ability to read a defense.

What make Buckeye fans think Urban Meyer is even interested in being in Columbus??? Folks, the fact is the Big Ten is being exposed as a very mediocre conference. The bad teams are bad, and the good teams are mediocre. Braxton Miller is so scared to throw the football, he just takes off running as soon as the primary receiver is covered. And he's your QB of the future.

Didn`t JT (and Pryor) lose at Purdue in 09?
Were you calling for his head too?!! :p

Braxton would do much better with a good Oline, Bollman has these guys blocking like girls, no nasty streak in a single one of those slugs.
What's the Bucks going do when the running back takes a direct snap? That's a tough one for the defense. Purdue did whatever they wanted the first half. Leaving your leading receiver in Columbus was not the thing to do. It gave the team the impression that this was going to be an easy one. We need Urban Meyer immediately.

a HC has to be involved in Offensse and Special Teams in addition to defense, the current Head Coach of the Buckeyes CLEARLY is not, hopefully the next one will be. Also, it is reprehensible to get off the team bus with the iPod as a HC

Why cant the HC have an iPod while on the bus? Have you ever been on a team that travels on planes and charter busses like OSU does? If so, you would know that the time going to the stadium is one of quiet time and personal focus. Listening to the music that gets the individual in the right frame of mind to play the game. Time to think, reflect, plan, self motivate. Your comment is the most reprehenible statement I have read today!

agree that our defense was atrocious today but how predictable do you think our offense looked today to Purdue:
Bollman - "hey let's shift Adams and to out guys to the right side and do a running play right"
Bollman (same series) - hey let's keep Adams on left side and move Stoneburner and one other to left side, then do a running play right"
Bollman: "Purdue will never figure this one out"
Bollman: "it's 3rd and 4 guys, let's take all backs out of the backfield so that we really confuse 'em......they won't know whether we're going to pass or do a Braxton draw"
FORGET THAT POSEY IS STILL OUT - WITH THE ATHLETES WE HAVE ON OFFENSE THEIR IS NOT REASON WHY OUR OFFENSE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN LIKE THEY WERE BY THE BOILERMAKERS. BOLLMAN IS JUST VERY LUCK BRAXTON IS AS ATHLETIC AS HE IS - OR WE SCORE MAYBE 7.
if you understand anything about football and think Bollman knows what he is doing you are one scary football person.
come on Bucks - send Bollman back to the NFL where his ineptitude will shine thru even more

on "same series" play #2 meant to say running play left
point being that even the tv guys knew exactly what was coming and laughed about it

Fickell isn't ready to be the HC at OSU, but it wouldn't matter if Tressel was still still here this year either.

Not defending Bollman, but with our huge linemen and two tight ends, shouldn't the running backs be able to find a whole somewhere. We're Ohio State. Get nasty!! Pound the football, pound the football, pound the football, run a qb draw, pound the football, etc.
And why do we continue to use Hall in short yardage situations??? Hyde's bigger and has proven he deserves to play.
I think Tressel makes a difference today.
You bet your.........farm it would matter if Tressel was there today, and in lincoln, and in the shoe to msu....... we ran what about 9-12 plays all game?

Another horrible display. But to be honest, the more games we win, the worse the penalties will be. The FTM may be enough already to hurt the Urban thing. Its already a destroyed season, plan for the future.

Can you tell me when Pryor ever threw the ball well? His feet were horrible he never really threw it his balls were more of a shot put than a throw. Miller has a stronger arm IMO than pryor but he is not accurate right now.

He grips the ball entirely too tightly at this point IMO. And, he so used to the WR's not breaking opne, he miss TY early on 3rd down but threw it late (when Stonebrunner juggled it).
Do we practice catching on offense or defense? How many INT's did we drop? When Johnson picked that ball off late in the 4th, I immediately made himinto a WR.
Miller wasn't looking downfield early when he was running, and then, all he did was throw downfield. It's so extreme week after week. What a letdown!!!

Travel with whatever you want, you are the current face of the program, game is nationally televised on ABC, take the headphones off when arriving at the stadium. Every other HC in the world understands that face time is the face presented IS the face that your team is being evaluated on.

Ima - you've hit one of the other obvious areas o the Bollman problems - not using the right personnel in the right situations.
other one - with Stoneburners talent you can't find a way to get him the ball? Not even once.......

Now that we have been slapped with a failure to monitor and will probably get a 2 or 3 year bowl ban fickell will be back. No coach will touch this team with a 10 foot poll while we are on a bowl ban. Hopefully next year fickell will be able to bring in his own guys for co ordinators and see what he can really do as a head coach. This team has a lot of young up and coming talent so the future looks bright even with a couple year bowl ban on the horizon.

Guys (and gals), let's get real--
Urban is NOT coming to TOSU. Here are some reasons why:
1. TOSU is going to get slapped hard by the asshats that make up the NCAA.
2. TOSU pay for assistants is not comparable to major conferences (many big time coordinators make over $1M)
3. TOSU is part of a mediocre conference
4. Coaching at TOSU is (probably) more stressful than coaching at Florida (he is worrying about his health)
5. Florida (80 degrees in the fall) vs. TOSU (I never saw snow during an SEC game)
6. It would take him several years to 'right the ship' at TOSU. Why would he want to take the time to do it at this point in his career.
This is just my opinion.

Isn't the same coaching staff still at OSU that was there when Tressell was coach? Same O and D coordinator?

This is all playing out the way most expected it. Urban has always been a possibility, and very well may still be. But the NCAA is going to try its best to prevent it, or any other highly respected coach for that matter. Its already started. Loss of schollies is just the start. That alone keeps coaches away. Next is the bowl ban. Then it will all be done. And chances are the geniuses at OSU will self impose the bowl bans. The writing is on the wall. And i'm not claiming any conspiracy theories from the NCAA or anything. But the fact remains that they are after 4 super conferences, and the B1G is not one of them. Its mediocre at best, there is no flair for TV viewers, and they are proactive in nothing. They are proving that they do not want to expand either. That will not fly with the NCAA. They need the super conferences to get the start of a playoff with the conference champ games. Then you have 2 more and there is your new, true NC. The B1G is in the worst possible position to become one of these conferences. The last thing they want is a high profile coach saving this conference.

I keep reading on here the NCAA is going after Ohio State. Look folks, the Buckeyes did this to themselves. Don't blame the cop when you are driving 50 in a 25 mph zone, they are just enforcing the rules.
The Big Ten is an old stodgey conference that is slow to change, the Buckeyes have lived great the last 10 years when the league is way down, inflating their value. The Buckeyes are always going to be at or near the top of this weak conference, but nationally, they won't stack up against the big boys.

So when the Buckeyes drop their next 2 games, and get invited to the Alpo dog food bowl, do they Decline? Or do they self-impose a bowl ban, knowing they would probably be embarrassed by whatever opponent they face? I'm just asking.

Red,
Like I said, I don't believe the NCAA is after OSU. I think they are attempting to set up a new structure. And the B1G is fighting it. As far as OSU doing wrong, yes they did. As did Miami. And Miami's offenses are the equivalent of driving that speeding car head on into another car killing a family of 4. Yet the NCAA has really just turned their heads on that case to worry about tattoos and high hourly wages in the B1G. It really shows what's going on. And its not really surprising. The NCAA infractions committee also does not have a representative from the B1G.

Other then that, you are absolutely right about the B1G. And this is coming from a fan.

I think Toledo wants a re-match with them in the Little Caesars Bowl
