1 Bucyrus Wynford (11-0) vs. 5 Portsmouth West (10-1) at Reynoldsburg Raider Stadium
2 Lucasville Valley (11-0) vs. 6 Ashland Crestview (11-0) at Upper Arlington Marv Moorehead Memorial Stadium
I think these are a couple interesting match-ups. If West and Valley wins then they will play each other again for the regional title. It's going to be a tough test this week for both SOC teams.
*West lost regular season to Valley 28-20 so this would be a great game to watch. But that's me looking ahead and I hope neither team in looking that far ahead.
West will have their hands full, but they can also make it very difficult for the Wynford Royals. The team is flat out aggressive and tend to produce many turnovers and keep their opponent's offense off the field.
Valley has the most balanced attack and can either pass or run affectively, so they can be a handful for any team, plus they play stellar defense.
I will not make predictions but it's obvious what I want to happen. However, the game is played in the trenches. The team that wants to win the most, makes the least mistakes (turn overs and penalties) should win these games.
It appears that Region 19 squads are fairly even and match up well with each other. So anything can happen in these games but it will be the team that plays all four quarters and their best game to beat their opponent.
As a West Senator I do worry about West's PAT ability, this needs to improve since this game could come down to the wire and every point will count.

You just might get you wish, but I have a feeling at least one of the SOC teams will advance. Of course, I am an SOC fan and watched these young men for years, so I am a little biased.
No matter, I can't wait to watch the games, nothing like football, fishing and hunting this time a year!

I cant predict any thing, I'm a Royals fan so I'm obviously bias as well. But being thrown into this region is like the big unknown. I'm sure West has a good team, they wouldn't be here if they didn't. But I gotta say I like our chances, we have played some pretty good football over the past 5 weeks.

west is a real good team lucasville valley was the only team to beat them. they are going to be one of the most physical team you have played. they dont really have that much speed tho. they have a good qb but they dont pass it that much. they will basically just line up and run it right at you all night long. im a valley fan so im pulling for a all soc finals but im not sure that its going to happen.

This pretty much sounds like an instant replay of last week. All but maybe they can pass it? Last week Smithville was huge up front and I do mean HUGE! They moved the ball between the 20's but our D never broke. But and if there are any Smithville fans reading this , I'm sorry. But when they broke out what I can only describe as one of the worst passing games in the state of ohio. It was over for all intents and purposes.

West can pass it. They have a good senior QB. But they don't attempt to many. I think around 10 passes a game. The QB will run alot. They don't have what I would call a speed back. Both backs are like smaller fullbacks. Real tough to bring down. Valley beat them by using their speed.

West uses multiple backs and a pass or two, and they have a strong defensive and offensive line. The battle is won up front and I hope for a great game.
West will battle even if they get down in score, so it will be a game that will be played down to the wire. What a lof of people don't realize is how talented the juniors are on this team, and they compliment the seniors and are a huge force on defense.
I have watched the juniors and they like to make statements. It's their motto and they won a lot of lopsided games.
However, I do not think West will blow out the Royals, but they will play hard until the last second. I like this squad because of this fact and watched them either dominate or fight untill the end.
It might not be enough in this game, but it will not be a blow out either. If West doesn't create turnovers then they might lose a close one, but their defense is great at creating turn overs.
They're hard to run on, their drives east up a lof of clock, and anyone who passes a lot on West, will throw interceptions.
It will be a great game to watch.

It was intersting and a tough loss for West. It could have went either way and West had two chances to take the lead while only a few yards from the end zone. So kudos to the Royal's defense because they were the difference in this game, and bent but did not break.
This game was exactly as I envisioned, except West came up short when they needed the go ahead score.
Congrats to the Royals on a hard fought win and a clean football game!
West, you can't hold your heads down on this one, you played the #1 seed to the last second. Congrats to a great play off run. I enjoyed every minute and I am very proud of all of you!
I also want to thank all the Veterans for fighting and sacrificing for our country so we can enjoy liberties like football!

You boys played a great game, hard nosed, good old fashioned straight up good football! It was a clean game from what I could see on both sides. Class team, Class Kids and Class fans!
What a Game!
And I have to say, I underestimated how good your team really was.

Just a note from a Reynoldsburgian
I was working the gate last night and have got to say I was so impressed with the attitude, class, and kindness of both teams parents and fans. I hate that one team had to lose, but wanted to say thanks to both schools!

Thank you, and Reynoldsburg should be very proud of that field and the way you host an event. Well done!
