We'll find out if Toledo is pretty good, or if OHio State is really down this year.

Oddly, Boise State has gone through some of the same scandals that Ohio State, Oregon, Auburn and Miami has gone through, yet we hear very little, if anything about it.

The reason you don't hear much about Boise St NCAA violations, is because they are minor compared to OSU and Miami.

But can Toledo beat Boise? Not sure. They could have (should have) beaten OSU, they just didn't deliver the knockout. If Toledo can keep their penalties down, and force a turnover or two, they could have a chance to stay in the game. But I'm predicting Boise wins by 3 td's or more.

we really won't know how good (or bad) osu is until we see them at full strength.

^^^ I beg to differ. Missing a good linebacker and wideout definitely would still have an effect on a team. In the buckeyes case there missing Jordan Hall, a great return threat, Devier Posey, possibly the best wideout in the Big Ten, and Travis Howard, in my opinion who will be the next great DB to go through OSU and on to playing on Sundays.

I hope the Rockets get em Friday night.

they're also missing their starting LT and last year's leading rusher.

I'll be at the game Friday night. I'm thinking there will be a lot of points put up on the board.

Ya no doubt. Heard tickets for that game are double the normal price of about $25. Still worth it though in my opinion.

They can't possibly be any more 'minor' than Ohio State's. They (Boise) just lost 3 scholarships for the next three years for their 'minor' problems.

I'm not too optimistic about this one. Try or not, it's going to be hard to regain that mental "edge" so soon after losing a tough one to OSU -- a game that UT had looked forward to for a long time.
Besides, Boise is just a better team than OSU right now so Toledo could be in for a tough night.
That said, the Rockets do have a good club this year. I'll say Boise 42, Toledo 20. Please don't take that to the bank!

Boise's offense is much more explosive than Ohio States, Toledo could play fairly well defensively and still give up 35 to Boise, they are just good.

Boise by 24, their 2* recruits play to win and inspired football. OSU's 4* recruits play not to lose and usually act like they would rather be doing something else. Big difference.

I agree. Ohio State plays like they are at practice, instead of a game.....MOST of the time.:o

Riigghhtt. I do love my bucks but I can stay level headed. To objectively say how these kids play is moronic. Every team has their head cases regardless of program size or star rating.

I will be broadcasting the game on our college radio station 88.3 wxut. I hope to see the rockets show a great performance like they did against OSU last week, but Boise is a different animal. This is a get back game for UT, because they got beat badly last year at Boise. If UT can keep down the penalities and mental mistakes, this will be a great game. I will say it was great to broadcast last weeks game and see the Buckeyes fans sweat a little bit in the fourth quarter.

OSU followed by Boise St. in less than a week would be a difficult task for anyone. I'll be pullin' for Toledo of the MAC but don't see it happening.

I am totally behind the Rockets in this game. I think a victory would be fantastic. What a great boost for the MAC. In my heart of hearts however, I see very little chance of a Toledo victory and actually look for a three or four touchdown margin for Boise State. The other reason I'm pulling so hard for a Rocket victory is that I can't wait to hear how all of the Buckeye haters out there will rationalize this victory, because as a very enthusiastic Buckeye fan , you can imagine what my first post-game comment will be about, can't you? ( I know....it can't possibly happen, but, as they say, that's why they play the game.)

how does toledo get some of these so- called great programs to play at toledo? i"ll take the rockets and the points......

I don't know the answer to your question, minsterman, but I know that every now and then the Rockets have pulled off rather large upsets on that field. This would be a great time to get one of those.

Although Boise State's been significant nationally over the last several years, they still don't have the power to pay off teams to come in for a thumping. It's just an anomoly that Toledo can get a high profile team like Boise to come in.

BAR43

This is mostly because Boise's stadium isnt that much bigger than toledos. I know Boise has more seats, but for OSU you are looking at 70,000 seat difference and thats why it would never make sense for OSU to play at toledo or any where else in state. They can make their money and pay the opppnent more than the opponent would make at home. Boise doesn't have that luxury at this time.

OSU was without 6 starters against Toledo, including their first and second string tailbacks. I feel that is a pretty significant amount of starters to be missing for one game. That is nearly 1/3 of your starters. They were missing their starting tailback, left tackle, #1 wide reciever, 2 cornerbacks. There were also missing their starting defensive end due to injury. I feel that is pretty significant.

I'm guessing the replacements for these positions were high school all staters or all americans. Please don't go there. Top 10 programs don't have significant drop offs from first to second string, like I said, other than Pryor, there's not a significant drop off. Remember, they have what, 85 scholarships there?

I can hear the excuses already if Boise pounds Toledo. Well, OSU only had 5 starters playing...

Picked up 4 tickets yesterday on the 40-yard line, row 25 from a ticket broker in Indiana for face value. Overnighted them to me and they are now in my greedy little hands.
