Both teams enter this game 1-0. The Gales won their game 35-13 and had 421 yards of offense (all rushing) on the night. I believe they had 8 different players carry the ball throughout the game. Defensivly the Gales still need to improve but it was the first game and I know our coaching staff will have the kids working hard to improve.

From what I read on another thread it sounds like Mason's first game was a good one offensivly for them as well. It sounds like Mason's defensive might give up a few points, How did they loook against the run/pass..

I think Lancaster can win this game next week. They are pretty big up front on both sides of the ball and play a very hard nosed physical style of football.

I found an article about the Mason game from last night. They gave up a lot of rushing yards including 17 carries for 213 yards and two touchdowns to the starting TB for Springboro. However, their own TB had 29 rushes for 240 yards and four touchdowns, and as a team ended with 299 yds rushing. It didn't really mention passing stats too much. It appears like this should be a good ground and pound type of game!

Lets hope they stick to a running attack....god knows we don't need to see a passing attack...lol

Yea, we will see that and then some with Twinsburg. They are very Pass heavy and run the Spread

Good luck, Lancaster! Gotta stop that passing game. I figured that would be our weak point this year (as always).

What I can gather from the Mason first game is they gained alot on the ground but also gave up alot on the ground. That could bode well for the Gales because I think the strength of the defense would be rush defense and definitly our strength is our rush offense.

What a hell of a game! Lancaster wins it in OT 41-35. This was a true game of momentum. Lancaster goes up 14-7, then goes down 28-14, then up 35-28, then wins it in overtime. Lancaster's defense got shredded, there are no two ways about it. They need to improve, and improve fast.

It was a nice comeback win for the Gales, however, if they get into a hole like that against Pick C or Pick N...it'll spell alot of trouble! Go Gales!

what an exciting game to watch tonight.....The Gales offense was firing on all cylinders tonight. They had one drive stall due to a penalty which put them in 3rd and long and ended up punting and then one other series where they had to punt. Other than those two series they scored on every time they got the ball and most of those drives were 80+ yards. The QB for mason was the key to their offense tonight. He scrambled a lot to buy time and fine open receivers and also was very effective running the ball.

Side note: If my memory is correct Lancaster did not even attempt a pass tonight against the comets

Definite props go tp the Offensive Line. Probably not two many division 1 schools in the nation that are 2 and 0 and have not completed a pass yet. We did attempt 1 pass tonight but it got batted down at the line of scrimmage. Our physicality absolutely wore Mason down tonight.
Someone needs to mention that any supporter of Mason should be absolutely ashamed of the Homer job that was attempting to be played out there tonight. Those referees should be investigated.

There were some bad calls...the fumble in the endzone and Luke Roberts touchdown are two that really stuck out but it was still a fun game to watch with a lot of great plays....hopefully Mason can win a fair amount of games this season we need computre points and it doesnt look like Logan is going to help much again

Good stat wrapup. Where did you get that information ? It is for certain that the local fishwrap (The Lancaster Eagle Gazette) dont have any coverage of the Gales.

Russ King had to have a bunch of yards. He was running very tough. Continually 5 yards a carry. Gales back do a great job of falling forward. Always pick up that extra yard. Very rare is it when I see a Gale running back fall back on a tackle.

Great win in a tough environment against a good Cincinnati area team. The offensive line was the key to the win. I think Roberts needs to get more carries per game even if it means taking a few plays off on defense. He is a game changer running behind that offensive line.
