An absolutely great game that went back and forth. UA 7-0 after 1st quarter. TV scores ties it at 7-7, then UA scores on 1 long pass to jump back up 14-7. TV ties it before the half. TV scores first in the 3rd quarter for a 21-14 lead. UA drives the field and fumbles on the 1. Later in the quarter they score for another tie at 21. UA breaks the tie early 4th but misses the PAT. 27-21 TV shuts down the UA offense the rest of the game. TV ends a drive at midfield back to back with turnovers (fumble, interception off a deflection). With 2 minutes to go, UA downs a punt at the 1. TV goes 99 yards in 90 seconds. The PAT to win is a bad snap and the folder runs a swept. Pushes through two UA tacklers and fights for the endzone. TV 29-27. UA has a 4 and out on 3 incomplete passes and a sack. One victory formation and TV wins. One of the best games I have ever seen. It was in doubt clear to the end.

Congrats to both teams. Anyone in the Zanesville area, it is on television tomorrow at noon on WHIZ-TV out of Zanesville.

PS Over half the points scored in this game (both teams) were long passes.

TV plays an exciting brand of football. They are hardnosed as well. They will make a statement in R7. I'm ashamed to say I picked against them this week. mistake on my part.

Looks like the Scotties were doing a little bit of sandbagging in their scrimmages.

Hats off to TV. Both QB's played great. #3 for TV is a very tough kid. UA had a 27-21 lead and TV is 99 yards away with 1:55 on the clock. First play a 60 yard pass. Great throw.

Good luck the rest of the Scotties. Just like last year, so many times UA had TV on a third and long and TV would find a way. Their coach is not afraid to take a chance.

Wow Im pretty surprised at this.
Altho I did say it would come down to the end as it did, I thought it would go the other way especially since one of TVs stud was out.

Thats why I was asking the UA folks about the scrimmage with GC.
I was not at all impressed with what I saw with GC and I had some conflicting reports that GC actually controlled or "pushed the line of scrimmage".
Unfortunately no one even knew they scrimmaged them or even someone said it was a 7 on 7 so I couldnt get any confirmation or denial of that.
Didnt Golden guarantee playoffs this yr? Tough way to start with Springfield coming up next. I think the Bears will handle the Cats(I hope).
Im hoping to get harbins from our Bear friends from the OCC Central!!!!

Great win for the Dogs!

I was also suprised by this. I thought that UA would make a statement in this game. Hats off to TV, sounds like they are a fun team to watch.

This game sounds very similar to last years Dover game,in that one T.V. went 99 yards twice then intercepted a pass at the T.V. one with just seconds left. Congrats T.V.,see ya at Crater in a few weeks.

GO DOVER!!!

I had heard GC and UA had a competitive scrimmage. If that is true - and honestly, I can't believe it is, UA is looking at a very long season.

I think things will show that Tri Valley is a pretty good team. UA has some things to work on but can still have a great season. They had an excellant opportunity to win that game. They had TV at the 1 yd line with 1:55 to go and could not close it out. Credit to TV of course.

Got some stats from the weekly news.

Smith UA finished 14 of 22 for 222 yards and three touchdowns. Strock TV was 14 of 26 for 282 yards and three touchdowns and an interception.

Frank Epitropoulos UA caught three passes for 109 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown catch. Zach Powers UA finished with five receptions for 65 yards, including a 36-yard scoring catch. Garrett Powers UA had one catch for a 16-yard touchdown.

Ryan McSheffery led UA with 86 yards rushing on 17 carries.

TV--Jones 5 run (Amicone kick)

jh, I believe TV is a very nice team and will make some noise in R7.
But we r talking about being a player in R3 with the likes of the big boys David and PC. I think most folks thought UA was playoff bound and prolly hosting rd 1 and even an outside shot at pushing the big 2(at least I thought so) For them to lose without one of their big guns was surprising to me. Great teams pull out or close out those types of games.
Obviously its still only one week so now is not the time to push the pannic button. They have talent and coaching so they can definitely turn it around.
Sfield sounded as though they struggled but look who that was against.
Maybe its good that they are getting them early.

OCC Ohio got their league big harbin cows by beating DeSales and Watty.
You gotto think they will prolly get 3 in now out of this lot PC PN Lancaster Gahanna Rburg Gport
Cardinal gets WS and possibly one more(Marysville).
Troy is a lock IMO. Springfield has a tough schedule but cant count them out.
Thats 6 prolly w 5 for sure leaving the Central with Davidson and one more spot. UA DC or Darby.
No room for slip ups is all Im saying.

cthelites, I agree with you. TV may be a good team but it was a tough loss and one UA really needed even if it was week one.

The next two weeks are must wins, unless they can beat davidson and darby.
