Dunbar (0-0) vs. Valley View (0-0)
Dunbar makes the trip to Germantown on Friday night. The Wolverines have shown a lot of athleticism in their scrimmages but also a lack of conditioning. Valley View won't be as explosive on offense as last season but the defense appears improved. Will this game come down to conditioning and fundamentals as it has in the past?

Valley View will win this game if the conditioning holds true!

VV wins based on conditioning and early coaching advantages...

I'd consider Dunbar the favorite in this one. Hall and Wallace will be a handful. Some unknowns for VV right now.

Troy shutout Dunbar in scrimmage. Valley View can do the same.

No doubt that Dunbar has it's best chance at beating Valley View in the last few years. Athleticism will be a big advantage for Dunbar. VV has a good tackling defense and is in better condition than in years past. Coach N has worked a lot more on conditioning with more players going both ways. Every year VV has matched up with Thurgood Marshall or Dunbar they have used conditioning to wear on them. I was told in the quad scrimmage that Dunbar looked great in the first scrimmage but then wore down dramatically in the second and third scrimmage. I see that as the only way VV wins!

Dunbar will probably score early and almost at will--- but will tire. VV offense has yet to prove, based on scrimmages, it can put points on the board. "Catching up" may not be an option.

HP, very good point. In year's past, Dunbar hasn't scored much on VV and then faded as time went on in the game. This year's VV appears to have a nice defense but they won't have a quick strike offense. VV has to keep this game close early. If they can, they'll win in the 4th quarter. The keys fo VV will be:
1. Stay close early.
2. Win the TO battle.
3. Tackle well.
4. Limit penalties.

Lets look back at my post on what VV needed to do to win:
1. Stay close early. - VV fell behind 12-0
2. Win TO battle. - VV held it's own here with a pick 6.
3. Tackle Well - VV gave up two 60+ yard scores.
4. Limit Penalties - VV had it's usual slew of offensive costly penalties.
The result? Loss - 34-28

You said it. Dixie might get its first win against VV in over 30 years this Friday (but I don't think they will).
