Any news? Did the QB (Jarbo) stay or leave the district like his older brother?

Jarbo stayed. They should be pretty decent.

Carlisle posters over on ############### are saying he and his Dad moved to Carlisle. Which is it? Shawnee was good on offense but defensively they were horrendous. Wasn't real impressed with Jarbo vs. MU last year.

I and the Preble-faithful like what they saw last year there in the cornfields outside Camden. I do hope he stayed. This will be their coach's second year?...third?

Yea, overall Shawnee looked better than they have in the past. But I think to compete on a higher level they need to be better than Jarbo. Jarbo is one athlete and that's it. Milton, Waynesville, Carlisle, Dixie will throw 6 kids as good as him at him and Shawnee this year. Good luck though.

I'm hoping someone can confirm if Jarbo is in fact there or gone. To Preble Shawnee's credit, they were improved last year. In all honesty, they should be able to compete with Northridge and Madison on a yearly basis in the Buckeye.

Looking for the same confirmation...

It appears over on ############### that Jarbo is in fact practicing with Carlisle. I'm waiting on a confirmation myself.

Based on Eric's post, Jarbo is in Shawnee. I really don't think he's THAT good to waste all of this posting on him. Jarbo is a talented young man and wherever he plays he will succeed.

It has been posted. Jarbo is 100% at Carlisle currently.

I just laugh thinking about these kids playing DIV ball and jumping schools for what...a football program?! Seems like a skewed sense of reality...where are the parents?

Hocus Pocus, it's an odd situation. I suppose it's tough to tell why it was done because we aren't in the household. I'm assuming it's mostly done for the chance at playing in the playoffs. Tough to say.

True, we don't know all the facts. Now they, the bloggers, are saying he has been ruled ineligible (if that is the right term) to play his senior year because of transfer violations. Sad if true. The kid loses out as does his team and the community. I still lay this at the parents' feet.

DDN listed him as 6'-0" 190lbs last week...I thought he was much smaller than that?...

The Dayton Daily News reported the OHSAA has ruled against him playing at Carlisle. It does not mean he couldn't play at Preble Shawnee. Carlisle coach is appealing the ruling.

Why do Jarbo kids leave Shawnee after three years to play for another school? Makes no sense. If you know you're going to leave, then do it before your senior year. I mean, why the move to Carlisle? It's in the same league? How does that help visibility....

I'm a little curious as to how this will play out. I've read from Carlisle posters that Jarbo makes them a 9-1 or 10-0 team but without him more like 7-3. Seems a bit drastic.

...and the Jarbo kids did it in 2010 and now 2011...one--- two. If it is academics, pull both out and move them. AGREE Eric, it makes no sense.
Carlisle posters are rabid with their recent program success (and that's ok imo!).

There's absolutely nothing gained by moving from Preble Shawnee to Carlisle - football-wise.

Maybe the Indians will make me eat my words, but this year both will be chasing Waynesville and Milton-Union. And Dixie will be good too.

Has there been any new news on Jarbo? I guess the real question is if he loses his appeal will he return to PS and if they will even take him back. That would be some locker room

Well, I think Carlisle fans are a little overzealous in stating that Jarbo makes them a 10-0 team. Franklin will be very good, they have to travel to West Milton to take on a tough Bulldog squad and they have Dixie, Waynesville and also Valley View on that schedule. I think Carlisle fans are WISHING he makes them 10-0. Could be, but I wasn't that impressed with that young man last year vs. MU and the game was at Shawnee.
I think Eric is 100 percent right. If you're going to transfer, why wait until your senior year? Really? Isn't like Carlisle is some football powerhouse. They had a couple of very good teams. Doesn't make you a beacon for college recruiters.

Any news? Did the QB (Jarbo) stay or leave the district like his older brother?

Judging from thier performance Friday night @ Twin Valley South, they contiune to improve. With a senior class over 20, they have gotten bigger, faster & stronger. The work that has been put in by the coaching staff shows that they contine to do the right things this season. With the loss of last years seniors and others, shawnee will play competitive ball this season.
