I am excited about the formation of the new Licking County League. Is there any information out on when it will officially be organized? I use to read in the Newark Advocate and the Johnstown independent, before each county league game, the overall record between the two schools. Is this information still published before each game and where would that information be found?
Here is this Fall's schedule of games that finds future LCL foes playing each other. Do we have overall records for those schools competing against each other?

I want to see how the divisions are set up before I say I am excited along with if they are going to force each team to play X amount of cross over games.

if we dont play 3 crossover games it will go against saving money on travel.
everyone should be able to do it except northridge.

I think it's nice that the league is coming back together but I'm hoping that NC doesn't play Watkins. They're what like D2? Also, LH keeps growing. I look forward to watching LV and Watkins go at it. They're definitely going to need a big schools and a small schools subdivision split if NC wants any chance of staying healthy and making a consistent playoff run.

nc can compete with watkins in football. being D2 doesnt mean anything in their
case. nc would do ok against them. Watkins was our biggest rival in the early 80's.

I believe the "new" LCL will not be in effect until the 2013-2014 school year. So the Fall of 2013 will see the first LCL action - correct me if I am wrong

you are right. But i think we should hear something about the divisions for football because we need to know how many crossover games were going to have so that we can fill nonleague games. The open date page shows that there are no games for weeks four and five.

LV is d3 and they hardly ever beat them anymore. I would love to see NC be able to compete better with these teams but they just don't have the numbers.

Now let me get this let me straight "Greenallover". You feel Newark Catholic should be placed in a division with Johnstown, Lakewood, Northridge, and Utica. Newark Catholic has an over all record of 81 wins, 6 losses and 1 tie with these teams. So Newark Catholic should be placed in division they can dominate because they will be in better "condition" to be successful in the playoffs. So your reasoning is just put them in the less competivtive division..hand them the trophy..because Newark catholic really only cares about winning in the playoffs.
And with this reasong, Greenallover, Newark Catholic, should certainly not be placed in a division where historically they have won 74% ( 67 out of 90) of their games against Licking Valley, Watkins Memorial, Granville and Licking Heights, because they might not be able to win every game or their players might get hurt?
I know this is certainly not the postion of the Administration and coaching staff of Newark Catholic, because if it were they should just re-enter the Mid-State League or CCL and forget about the "new" Licking County League. Danville and East Knox would be a much better fit and better neighbors if this were the case.
As far as the football dvisions are concerned, I am sure the LCL will follow the common sense ECOL model. 4 division games and one required cross over rivalry game. The other five weeks schedule can be filled with no other league members or all four if a school so chooses.

i'm not saying this is the 80's when watkins was a better team. nc can do well against them i dont think you can compare them to licking valley. i always thaught it was a rivalry both teams looked foward too. watkins has had 1 playoff game in their history and are not competative in the occ that is one reason they are moving back to the LCL. Nc has good players coming up.

There is no way Newark Catholic should be in the same part of the league as Watkins, Granville and Valley.

Newark catholicfan, even if nc is put in the small division they could play watkins in a crossover game. it defeats the purpose of getting back together if we dont play some teams as crossovergames and need to find 6 nonleague games in football we already did 8 with the ccl. in the othersports we play everyone and that will save cost. we could schedule watkins lh and heath or lakewood depending on who is in the big or small division and not have to play lv or granville. we need to find out how it is going to be set up and how many crossover games we have. and like i said in my above post nothridge could just play the small division teams. Rosecrans has more than one team from the big division of the ecol. and how do we know that the small schools want nc in their division.?

Playing schools that much bigger than you every other year is much better than playing them every year.
Either way I will be there rooting for the like I have since 1982.

Last time I checked, neither Danville nor East Knox were in Licking county.

Johnstown is d4 and Utica is d4. Is playing up two divisions not enough? NC doesn't have the numbers. This season they have 6 senior players. Now tell me, in comparison, how many seniors do the bigger schools, in the MSL this year, have? They can't play all of their players both ways and hope to stay healthy. Besides, take a look at the other teams in d6 (like Fairfield Christian) who pad their schedule with horrible teams and then make the playoffs when they only have 9 games on their schedule.

Having 6 seniors is not typical for NC and neither is avoiding competition. When they joined the MSL Ohio a few years ago I thought they bit off a little more than they could chew and they have struggled against the big 2. Lakewood would fare even worse. Everything I read at the beginning of this venture said NC to the big division. By the way Lakewood had 4 seniors that got in games last year.

If N.C. does get picked to go to the bigger div those in charge should rethink going back to the LCL.

We had 8 seniors and won a state title the under classmen can have good players. Lets find out what they are going to do. It takes time to find teams to fill the non league portion of the schedule.
