Not sure if its the timing w what happened at osu but is is nice to see a guy in charge (butch davis) take responsibility for all that's gone on w HIS program over the past year. Dont recall something like that ever coming out of the vest's mouth....DIRTBALL

UNC is in a big, huge cluster of trouble. The newest thing with these parking tickets is amazing. Some of these guys have multiple cars with tickets and multiple license plates for the same cars (don't know how that's legal).
That and the notice of possible 'Major Violations' with the NCAA's ongoing investigation, the player/coach/agent contact violations and the fact that 14 players missed atleast one game last year due to suspension and 7 missed the whole season. "Failure to monitor" is a huge possibility.
I agree Butch didn't try to cover this up but the amount of things piling up is huge and if this happened to Coach Tressel, while he was at tSOU, people would have been asking for his head.
Where's the news coverage on this? I've seen blurb here and there or an article, but not a full blown sportscenter expose every half hour. The Oregon thing? They were in the National Title game this past year. Hardly anything. Maybe I'm just a little sour.

I think a lot of it gas to do w timing...the unc stuff was huge at the beginning of football season and john blake being the guy wasn't a big shock due to his shady past and relations w agents...tosu stuff hit at the peak of bowl season and there was obvious "more to come" info

"more to come" like what? the alleged cars that checked out to be proper? the issues at tOSU and what took place at UNC are not even close in magnitude...SI tried their best to find dirt and could only pull up more guys gettin tattoos? lol If tOSU was really dirty, then they would've found recruiting issues/money issues/agent issues...yet nada. Columbus is just a place that eats their own and the media coverage is out of control....this didnt happen at Auburn w/Cam Newton and his father last year or at UNC where the big scoop there is basketball and we will yet see what takes place at Oregon. Sorry, but what took place at tOSU was miniscule, but the coverup itself made this a story! The program will serve whatever punishment the NCAA dishes out for that and move forward! The cases against USC/UNC/Oregon and what is going on down south is way worse than what has taken place at a tattoo parlor in Columbus! "Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone!"

Easy on the scripture boss, Issue is the vest lied, not an attack at tOSU. Do your homework w auburn, there was an ncaa bylaw that "allowed" cam newton to claim he didnt know what his dad was doing (hmm). THE VEST LIED, Butch Davis employed a coach with known ties toward agents with a prior history, chip kelley scrambled to get previous documents to say will lyles has been "helping" them legally....it all goes back to one person in each event....hmmm sound like similair stories to me.

I still think UNC could get nailed just because their list of things is getting longer and longer.
The whole Cam Newton thing stinks to high heavens of wrong-doing. If Cecil had anything to do with Cam picking a school because of how much cash he could get, Cam should be nailed. I understand that's not the rule, but that is how the rule should be. Cam de-committing from one school to another is kinda fishy considering the circumstances.
Chip and Oregon could get nailed big time and Chip's employment should be terminated if the allegations in the news are true, along with anyone else at Oregon that covered it up. The fact that Oregon asked for the recruiting services after Lyles got the check is hugely illegal in the eyes of the NCAA. That's a pay to play situation that is trying to be covered up. They didn't lie to the NCAA but covering up a 'pay to play' situation is no small matter.
Tressel tried to cover up someone else mess, Chip tried to cover up his own mess.
