We occasionally get correspondence from parents, fans and others asking why we didn’t mention a certain football player as one of our top prospects or players. The most common answer is: “We didn’t know about them.” As smart as we are and as detailed, there are always some big-time recruits that slip through the cracks. Point in case is Akron North senior DeShawn Dowdy. A 6-4, 215 pound WR/DE, Dowdy was an unknown until recently when his head coach Mike Laktash replied to our email request for 2011 football information. (http://www.jjhuddle.com/preview/)
