just so happened Tressell resigns on a day reserved for our military...way to take away from a day by confirming something that should've been done a long time ago

Even when he resigns he can't do it in peace. I'm telling you that this is just .00001% of the continual attack on JT long long after the event should have been ended. I would not want to be any college coach at any level in this country right now. If you hate someone, attack until he resigns.

I guess thats one way of looking at it, however i don't hate JT. I know how much of a military man he is and just can't see him doing this or even contemplating it on memorial day...just another bad move from the OSU brass...

Didn't think about it like that, but I'm assuming this was another botch by Gene Smith. He probably told him to do it today and didn't even think abotu the military. Gene Smith needs to resign too. Why does Ohio State keep hiring idiots from Arizona State?

This was Gene Smith and Gee's call to do it on Memorial Day. Well documented in Today's Cols. Dispatch.

my family calls me polyanna because i never ever ever give up. to me there is always a silver lining. there is always a way to win... i once won an argument against turning the channel when the bucks were down 31-0 against minnesota. we came back and won that game, and now no one may touch the remote control in my presence during game time.

(my argument that day: 'your grandparents are at that game. they drove all of the way up there and as the stands empty it is becoming more and more likely that we will get to see them on TV!' )

but i don't see a way to win here. and the family is smart enough to leave me alone on this topic.

i am SO bummed.

as far as this situation is concerned, mere analysis might not be enough, i might need some serious psycho-tropic treatment!

I will admit that I keep hoping this is all a big misunderstanding, and Jim will be proven honorable at some point. I keep hoping that he really meant the best for the kids by letting their little mistakes go by. But I keep hearing more and more news that is tearing down my rose-colored poster coach. I guess I have to accept he just might not be perfect afterall.

BUT...WHY does a pissy detail like what day he resigns have to be a big deal?

... damage control per media. Maybe learned something from muschamp announcing florida gig during heisman presentation.

The way this whole thing played out Smith nor Gee have the sense to use the damage control on Memorial day as a way of reducing the attention that has been given.

your opinion, mine is it was planned...the media are "the people", totally off subject but how much have you heard about japan since osama bin ladeouche got shot? if your a buc fan or osu "brass" you know the mission was accomplished. Every major website on memorial day had pictures of soldiers, flags, and our president and the vest resigning as a click icon towards the bottom...
