I posted this on the CCL thread as well:
Bishop Ready 2011 Schedule (LY Record in parentheses)
v. Franklin Heights (0-10, Division 2)
@ Fredricktown (13-1, Division 5)
@ Licking Valley (9-3, Division 3)
v. Nelsonville-York (8-3, Division 5)
@ Dawson-Bryant (8-3, Division 5)
v. Linsly (WV) (8-2, Points are as Division 6)
v. Lima Central Catholic (12-2, Division 5)
@ Montpelier (1-9, Division 5)
v. Bishop Hartley (13-2, Division 4)

Total Record of Opponents LY: 72-35 (72-25 if you exclude Franklin Heights)
7 of 9 made the playoffs.

How many boys is Ready looking at? Making the move to D4 means we had to have a 20+ boy spike?

What does everyone think of the new region?

Any idea where any of the home games will be played?

Go Knights!

The freshmen class is huge, probably the reason of moving up to division IV. Personally, I like how the region might play out for the Silver Knights, but the 10 games before that may be a different story. I see them beating Heights, Nelsonville, Dawson-Bryant, Montpelier, possibly Hartley and Linsly, and I honestly believe Fredricktown and LV will be close games after seeing returning rosters and previews of these teams. This season may be determines on the second half for the Knights and how they can close out games.
The core of the team is returning, with the biggest OL/DL Ready has seen since the 07-08 final four team, maybe even bigger. Trey Thatcher 6'3'' 265, McCoy 6'7'' 290, Hakcney 6' 300, Gutheil 6'3'' 255 Ferrelli 6'2'' 240. As always, size isnt all thats important though on the line, of course. Offense will be sound this year, with Hardy (possibly Yoho?) at QB, meaning Hardy would play RB if Yoho goes to quarterback. The older Yoho at reciever (6'4''), along with Livingston and Wright (I'm not sure of the JV recievers from last year). Three year starter Wright will be back to kick and punt. Defense has some holes. D - Line will be made up of the two way O-liners, but LB's may be scarce. Ferrelli and Herrmann return, but still need to fill the rest of the LB spots. Yoho will be in the secondary probably along with Hardy, with the corners yet to be found.
The pieces seem to be there for a better year this season, and if they can get to week 11, watch out in region 14 for the Knights.

RKF/WB: Where is Dimitrious Clark going to college? He was a tremendous player and seemed like a fine young man.

Demetrius signed with Ashland, I believe they got him down in tuition less than what he pays for Ready!

Good Luck to the SilverKnights,

Schedule looks very tough and should well prepare them for the Playoffs.
Along with that big line I noticed during Track season they had some serious speed on some of those boys.
Does any of the returning underclassmen on the Track team play FB.?

How does this team go from being according to people close to the program one of the "softest" teams Coach Wolf has ever had to an instant playoff contender?

WSBS2009

It's a new year and a new attitude. You know Coach Wolf will not have another year like last year, and that has got to be the mindset of the whole team.

Ok good to hear! I was just concerned as what I heard was not good coming out of some Ready fans. Much respect for the coaches and program! Good luck!

Regardless what year it is, Ready would have their way with Johnstown. Just my opinion of course

Last year's game was competitive, but Ready was obviously down. Any thoughts on how this one shakes out?

WSBS2009

I believe last year was a mixture of Heights coming out firing after not playing a year, the inexperience on Ready's side after losing so many seniors, and honestly not having the right people in the right places for Ready. In my opinion, had Heights and Ready played again last year, it would have been a big Ready win. I expect this to be another big one for Ready.

I honestly believe Fredricktown and LV will be close games after seeing returning rosters and previews of these teams.

Where did you see a preview and a returning roster for Licking Valley?

Who does Ready have lined up for scrimmages? When?

How did Ready look in the 7 on 7? Where are all the Ready huddlers???

WSBS2009

I actually saw a preview of Fredricktown, and looked at last years game roster for LV's roster this season. LV still has a hell of a line that shoots off the ball though, thats for sure.

Ready scrimmages Buckeye Valley the 10th, and Briggs the ...13th? I believe the 13th.

yes our line isn"t the biggest, but they are quick and strong for their size.

Good luck this year!

What do the schools that host your games get out of letting you play there? concessions? pay a fee? or do they do it out of the kindess of their heart?

Kindness of their hearts in todays economic turmoil.....HA

I would guess they get charged to rent it and probably don't get concessions.

Which means the only money they get is from the gate. Don't know for sure, just what I would guess. I have attended a few games at Hts. and noticed people working concession were Hts. people.

I read or heard somewhere that a two way starter for Ready is out for season with a broken leg... if so hope for a speedy recovery! Feel for the young man especially if he's a senior!

Analysis:
Ready had a rough go at things this morning. The practice before the scrimmage was just brutal to watch. Briggs was gaining 10+ yards every play and they burned us on the sweeps. Im not sure if Briggs even completed a pass. Ready did force a fumble late which was really the only redeeming play. I saw at least 3 TD's for Briggs compared to Ready's 1.

Once the actual scrimmage started, Ready started getting they're butts in gear. Briggs still ran through our defense like a knife through butter but our offense started clicking too. Hardy made some good decisions and mixed up the run-pass and kept the Briggs D on their toes. Both teams had one turnover and Ready has ABSOLUTELY GOT TO WORK ON THEIR SNAPS! That being said, Ready's 2 minute offense was as close to flawless as I see it getting. I started seeing a lot of hands on hips after only 2 quarters for Briggs. Ready's defense has GOT TO LEARN HOW TO STOP THE RUN! If they do that, then I think we will be alright. Our safety got pushed around for most the scrimmage too. Final Score was 15-22.

Side note... I don't know if this was intentional or not but the Briggs people holding the sideline markers were pretty shady... I noticed several times when Ready had the ball that the chains weren't pulled tight until after the play was over. Not to mention on a 4th and 10 the "ref" (emphasis on the quotations) moving the ball 2 yards backward to mark the spot was questionable as well.

All in all, Ready has a few kinks to work out, mainly on defense but I saw some sparks to what could be a pretty good season.

Hardy plays RB now. Matt Yoho is the QB

ReadyKnightsFan

Thanks for the info, I was impressed with Yoho, outside of a couple plays he knew when to tuck the ball and run.. Really made something happen when the Briggs D fell back expecting a pass.

If I was Ready and their fans I wouldnt count The game against Nelsonville-York an automatic win.

There are no broken legs, I would guess you read the article in the thisweeksports paper about scrimmages and injuries. They were refering to a player from last year who has since graduated.
