I remember this from my days back in 2001. (I know it says my join date is 2009, but my other user name was created in 2001 and had over 10k posts) I'd write stories on the football and basketball games I attended. But then the Huddle got more popular, people found out who everyone was, and it suddenly became the place for people who just wanted to cause problems. It was no longer fun to write about the games, because everyone at school and in the community just wanted to read what we wrote and criticize us in person for it.

I too wrote articles for almost all of the games I attended and for the most part I never figured many read them. I later found out a lot of the other posters did and I had a player at one school see me at a baseball tournament game and he thanked me for writing them on his team and said his father copied them all and put in a scrapbook for him. I was shocked to hear this and shocked even more when the player said that he and his teammates really enjoyed them.

JJ took care of me for doing this for his site which made it that more fun doing this.

Your former coach left two passes for me at a game a long time back when I was doing a game report for the huddle one year. I never did meet him but I am sure he is like all the GREAT PEOPLE I HAVE MET WHEN WATCHING YOU GUYS PLAY.

Yea, I too remember this. I actually started writing articles for the local newspaper in 1988 and continued until 2000 when I gave it up and started writing online. You are right RedStapler, people find out who you are and criticize.

For the most part I did not take any heat for the articles but I still to this day take a boat load of crap for rooting for a school I did not attend.
