Honestly, for everything listed (and there's probably more) this punishment isn't close to enough. If I am the MSL commissioner, I would call for immead. removal from the league.
What HP has essentially done is operate under no guidelines yet continue to actively participate in OHSAA sports.

I agree with Hank.

Agree Hank.
Maybe OHSAA's point is that the forfeiture and the post-season bans are the punishment that they will levy, and that they are hoping that other punishment will come by way of league dismissal and other teams ceasing to schedule them. That would be heavy. They lose league membership and have to try to fill the schedule as an independent, while being widely known as a cheater. Could be tough to find schools willing to return your calls when that happens.

Is it that important to Pastor Parsley to win at all costs ? I guess so. Sad commentary on todays use of kids by adults who want to promote themselves to the public as a winner. If I were his parishioners I would sanction him by withholding any donations in light of the findings against him , his coaches and his school. I don't want to hear that he didn't know about all of these goings on. It is beyond me how he could stand on the floor at the state championship game and receive a trophy knowing he had a hand in cheating to obtain it. His only regret in all of this is probably that they got caught. Sad situation !!!!!!!!!!

I'd assume they'd have trouble scheduling from here on out, although what they've been doing has been widely known outside the OHSAA circles for quite some time and they still find games, soooo....
I don't get the forfeit thing. To me, big deal. The games have already physically been played and others have already been effected. It doesn't change the effect on the teams they beat. Those teams still suffered that moment. It bugs me when the NCAA does this. I would just find another way that has a great impact.
I would have tossed in in-season suspensions for at least Thornton and Johnson. Your AD, Super and football coach not having the proper paperwork done??? That's unreal.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Parsley's cult has been out of control for quite a while. They should lose their ability to even have a school.

What really made me mad about the whole thing is that the MSL got a lot of complaints about Harvest and really the big divide of competition in the divisions, particulary in the Cardinal, where the 4th largest school in the whole MSL plays with the bottom 1/6 of the MSL in terms of enrollment.

Rhino: You could have made your message just as powerfully (perhaps more powerfully) without the gratuitous "fox news people" and "believers" commentary. There are plenty of examples of folks on the other side of the aisle that are just as phony. Save this stuff for the Bleachers section of the Huddle, that way I don't have to read it.
BTW: Hippocrates was a Doctor is ancient Greece. Not sure that is what you were meaning. I don't think so from the context clues. Also, the American currency equal to 5 cents is spelled nickel. This "fox news" person was evidently "idiot" enough to know the difference.

This pretty much ends OHSAA sports for Harvest Prep. There is no way Parsley will pay an outsider (probably 50-60k) to oversee his finances. The IRS is following close behind on this one. Too bad it took so long. It was common knowledge for many years that these very things were going on.

Story in the Dispatch today has the OHSAA backing off the final penalty sayng the investigation is not yet complete. If they weasel out of this one there should be riots in the streets.

Not sure what you are referring to exactly, but reading some of your post over the years, I have a pretty good idea (as it seems you always go back to the same point which is your right). After this next school year you will not have to worry about that as the Mid-State league will completely change with the new LCL.

These are the same schools a lot of our "leaders" who want to take money from public schools and give vouchers to parents so they can send their children to these morally superior, private, schools: Regina, Harvest Prep, Lake Ridge. Then the OHSAA sends a "nanny" to Harvest Prep so they can get themselves back in everyone's good graces?
They don't let the OHSAA look at the "Blessing Fund". Great, let's start giving them tax dollars too.

Licking Heights is going to be Division 2 this year and they'll be playing with Division 5's and 6's/

yes for one more year that is correct, I am sure they did not have enough time to get an independent schedule made for just one year. It is what is for one more year.

It will be nice to see how LH will compete in a league that is closer to their own size. They should get more points in this league, to help out towards the playoffs. There are many strong teams in region 7.
Does anyone know if LH ever won the MSL in football?
D2: Licking Heights, Watkins
D3: Lakewood, Licking Valley, Granville
D4: Utica, Heath, Johnstown, Northridge
D6: Newark Catholic

in all fairness this topic is about HP the Fisher Catholic fan always has to chime in about Licking Heights(LH is not a football power) even though Liberty Union West Jeff,or Grandview(I am a wrestling coach in Grandview) do not complain about being in the same league, some want keep on towing the same line time and time again. As stated before, I spoke to the principal after LH thrashed FC, I told him we have got to get out of this league he said they are. GIZ up now has to find a league after next year, do you think schools like Grandview, Westjeff(gone next year any way) and Liberty union want to be in a same league with Berne Union, Fisher Catholic, Harvest Prep, Millersport? West Jeff, Grandview , and LU all have wrestling teams with tradition, they atleast had a traditional wrestling school with heights.
As far as LH winning the league not sure might have been 1990-91 with the Marcus Booker team, Being d2 will be an up hill battle as the school/team 5 years ago was a d4 team, and many of the kids who love football are still in grade school or will be in Jr, High.

Didn't Heights win the league in 2001? I know they went to the playoffs or did Newark Catholic win it that year?

Licking Heights is in bad shape this season, no doubt!
For them to make the playoffs this season in D-2, region 7, I believe they will have to go 10-0.
I mean if you look at last season in region 7 the 8th seed in the playoffs was 20.0510.
LH went 7-3 and finished at 14.5000 in reg. 11.
If they could have beat Watkins last year it might have been enough to get them in, most likely they would have to of went 9-1 to secure a spot.
Getting Philo off of their schedule was a great move and at least adding the Gallia Academy another D-3 team will help them out with a win.
This years non-league teams combined for a 18-12 record last season.
I think that LH will have to for sure win their non-league games and at the most only be able to loose 1 in the league to make the post season.
And you never know, they might get to play Teays or Watkins 2 times this year if the teams make the playoffs.

Sorry to go off the subject of Harvest Prep there!
After reading the article and letting it sink in for a while, you know I actually got more upset.
Especially when it is the main guy running the show that is the one that has been behind all of the monkey business.
You know, most of the time it is usually just a coach behind it, but this is really shocking that someone in that position wants to go that far to win.
And you would think that the records in football though might have been a little better considering?
The basketball program (girls and boys) have been great, but now that you know this, what a let down.
You know that it is bad to bring this up but I will bet you a years worth of my pay that they can go back and this has been going on for years.
And I can guarantee you in the 2008 season when HP beat West Jeff 26-21 they had ineligible players.
The only reason I bring that up is that WJ shares the MSL Cardinal title with a team that they beat that same season by 30+ points.
But, sometimes in HS football that is the way it goes.
I'm sure I will take fire for that comment, but go back and let them forfeit every win to everyone and see if it kept someone out of the playoffs that season. Sorry I feel this way!

What does Fox news or Christianity have to do with cheaters?? What makes me sick is anyone who would put people in one group and judge them as a whole instead of individually. Would it be fair for me to say that all non-believers and CNN viewers are uneducated, mean, hateful people?? No, nor would I. Secondly, you judge based on, what I would guess, no direct knowledge of the church which is just as bad. I bet you think Rush is an a$$ and an idiot just b/c that's what other people have said. Try thinking for yourself for once, do your own research and come to your own conclusions. I'm not trying to come off as mean or disprespectful or even stand up for WH, trust me, I'm not, I just can't stand judgmental people. Either keep your opinions to yourself regarding these things or go somewhere else.

Um you realize the issue at hand I was addressing wasn't LH at all, but the disparity in the Cardinal division. The fact that of the 8 schools in the Cardinal division, three of them participate in the smallest football division, and four of them participate in the 2nd smallest football division, meanwhile the lone remaining team plays in the 2nd biggest division in football. On top of that, the fact HP has been cheating for a long time even stretches the disparity out further. I'm not speaking for anyone, I enjoy MSL Card sports, but I have always thought it was utter crap a school that one of the biggest enrollments in the entire league is playing teams that have some of the smallest enrollments in the entire state. GIZ up now has to find a league after next year, do you think schools like Grandview, Westjeff(gone next year any way) and Liberty union want to be in a same league with Berne Union, Fisher Catholic, Harvest Prep, Millersport? AFAIK, LH is the only Cardinal team leaving. So no, Fisher isn't at any risk of losing their league, if anything, the potential realignment signs point to either a.) The Small-School Fairfield County Division (comprised of BC, LU, Millersport, BU, FU, FC, AC and maybe HP?), b.) a division comprised of FU, Millersport, FCA, FC, LU, BU, BC and HP or potentially a whole new MSL.

One of my favorite HP moments was watching Rod P. cuss out the student section at a HP-Marion Franklin basketball game...priceless. I hope he donates his million dollar football field to Independence HS as a token of repentance for his past sins.

For some reason, when I'm thinking World Harvest/HP, I'm thinking of the "false idol", and that Family Guy episode where Peter gets a golden statue made for him for curing Chris's "disease". Reap what you sow, Rod.
