View Full Version : Is it time to part ways with Tressel???

I have heard rumors that he is "taking a bullet" for the school, but all signs keep pointing to him not being the person he presents to the public. Maybe the Bucks need to talk with Urban Meyer? With the job Thad is doing OSU is on the road to being a basketball school anyway.

I have to admit, I think this could be Tressel's swan song if he even gets to coach this year. And I know there has been a ton of talk regarding Urban Meyer buying houses in Upper Arlington and Central Ohio, but I can honestly say I KNOW that is all total BS. The Meyer's DO NOT own property in Ohio.
THAT BEING SAID, every contact I have at OSU seems to lean towards Meyer becoming the NEXT OSU head coach...
Hmmmm....

I hope you're wrong Cash....... we don't need that swamp jerk in the buckeye state. He may win, but he'd be bad for the university. I hate people that fake retire, he reminds me of the ego maniac quarterback in minnesota

bottom line is tressel has opened that door with his actions, i do not think tressel is a bad guy, just made a bad decision that may cost him his job

who knows, but clarett's the type of guy that if he told you the sun set in the west, you'd want to double check

Heck yeah, all it takes nowadays to get a good job is a college degree right? I mean, that's why we as educators push kids to go to college.

i would say educators push education because it pays their salary

I am more concerned about the fact that OSU's image is tarnished. Tressel should step down and they should allow Fickel the chance to win the job this season as a interim. Tressel has given OSU too many black-eyes in 10 years. He has been successful but with Clarett, the national championship games that were blow-outs, and now this...I think Vest needs to step down. Woody was fired for his indiscretions. I think Meyer is a bad choice at OSU. I would think Pelini's brother, or Pelini for that fact... or maybe Gruden.

I just don't think you can get past the lying. Particuarly when it was only when caught that he even admitted the lying and even then didn't take responsibility for it.
Great coach. Will be very hard to replace but I just think it's time to move on.

The more this drags on the more it doesn't look or sound good. And the digging is NOT going to stop anytime soon. Hopefully there is nothing more to unearth, but every media organization in Ohio is probably trying to be the next to dig something new up...

ytown-you sound like a good guy and the fact that you prayed for coach tressel is pretty cool. Until I read that, I never thought that he might actually need it now. As far as digging something up though, there is so much out there that even the littlest story over the next 3 years will get blown up. Pretty soon here, a bomb is going to be dropped.
Hypothetically speaking, and for the record, this is not the rumor ive been hearing floating around. I don’t have any inside sources so don’t take this for anything other than a hypothetical. Lets say it comes out what drugs edward rife was selling. One of those drugs happens to be steroids (again, not the rumors ive been hearing). The dispatch finds player A who put on 30 pounds in the off season, and has tatoos, then prints a story. Player A could have worked his tail off for that weight, paid for the tattoo, but how do you deny this? Its just like the cars incident. The story looks really bad, but there was NOTHING that has come from that, and nothing probably will.
There are two stories out there, that again are complete rumors that I think will add up too easily for Buckeye fans. Whether they are true or not, I think the story will be too much. Neither will likely fall on Tress, other than the fact that he was in charge. In the coming weeks ytownirish, we need to be saying a prayer for all involved!

FWIW- Educators push education because they have a passion and calling to teach the youth of America. They worry about pay because of a massive decline in parenting skills.

bball first that is a great pic (who?), but you need to see what i responded to, and if you did you need to look outside your box, i was not saying educators are just doing a job, there are many that have the passion you claim, but you sound like you are a bitter bug, expect bad parents it does not make it right but why stoop to their level, teach young people there are other ways to solve problems then name call and finger point, gets people no where, have passion but control it
