The NWCC has added Fort Loramie, Sidney Lehman, and Troy Christian in football only bringing the football members up to 9.

The changes will take affect begining in the 2012-2013 season

Interesting...they really had no choice, especially with the chance of Fairbanks leaving. Lehman and Loramie had little choice as well.

I hope they can get along and keep this together. I could see Lehman and Troy Christian joining for all sports at a later date, and if the conference stays together I would see them adding Houston in a few years when they start football

Maybe for football only....no chance of Loramie or Houston leaving SCL for all sports.

^^^ya I wouldn't want them to. I'm from Riverside but I love going over and watching the big time SCAL games. Have seen some great games in Bball between Houston, anna, Jackson, and loramie.

I went to an NWCC school but I'm a SCAL guy. So I love this move for a lot of reasons.

Not that I know of, It's most of them don't like me either. Former coach, I made some waves lol. My guess is that they make a decision about them till they have a team in the works, I would see that maybe getting off the ground in the same year these schools start competing in the NWCC.

The thing I noticed is that this makes 9 teams, that will make schedualing a problem with not having an even number of teams. IF Fairbanks stays I mean.

The info is now listed on the NWCC site...Fairbanks could know tomorrow as the MOAC is meeting to discuss adding some new members...

I was told earlier Houston will also be a future football member

This looks like a good move for the conference. Can someone help me understand how this is a good move for Fort Loramie and Lehman.

Looks like the schedule for especially Lehman will be really weak when compared to previous years.

It's probably just as weak as it was before. But the MBC was going to fold so they needed a conference, the travel will be better too. In todays economy gas prices pretty much overrule everything. They will have 3 out of conference games to load up with stronger teams if they so wish.

The MBC was really bad outside Loramie and Lehman - toss in the travel and it was a real bad idea.

Plus the MBC was terrible about having bye's late in the season. As someone from Riverside I like this move becaus all the sudden we are in the middle of all the teams geography wise.

Next I would like to see the NWCC go to having a round robin for all sports other than football. It's lining up to having 6 (5 if FB leaves) conference games next year in volleyball, Basketball, softball, and baseball

I think this is a great move for the conference.

I think the New Look NWCC needs to think about getting a name change. I would like to suggest the Western Athletic Conference. THE WAC! A new name for a new era in the Confernce.

I would also like to see more teams added for non-football sports. Starting with Lehman and Troy Christian. Maybe look at adding Sidney Christian Academy(thats the only school without a conference in the area) Also Look at making all non-football sports a round robin like almost everbody else does. I think without playing each team home and away you lose alot of what makes conference rivelrys great.

If we can keep schools cooperating this is the time to strike and get things done. We have a chance to change things for the better and make this a good conference. I have been critical of them in the past but this is a great oppertunity to make something we can be proud of!

In the article the AD comments that one reason to leave the Metro was that he wasn't sure who was going to have a team from year to year. HELLLLOOOO? Have you met the NWCC?

Other than ridgemont everyone will have a team every year, gaurenteed

Everyone is going to be clamoring for that week 3 slot w/Ridgemont just in case.

I would just tell Ridgemont they have to be independent or that they cant have a team. Make the conference season 7 weeks like it is now. Not like ridgemont is worth the game

Hopefully with the new coach he can change things around. It will start with attitude. The coach will need support from the school and the parents. And everyone will need patience. The rest of the league would love to have Ridgemont put a competative team on the field.

still wondering how they are going to make things work with an odd nuber of teams though. Your going to have teams with a conference bye week late in the season, and Has anyone said anything about having a permanent rivalry game for the last game of the football season? I think that would be really cool and a Nice way to keep all the teams excited all the way through the season regardless of being in contention for the League title.
