The Gales are off to a good start (2-0) and will host St. Ignatius (1-1) on friday September 10th.
The Gales Strength has been thier running game, averaging about 330 yards of offense per game. On defense Lancaster didn't defend the pass very well but seemed to correct some of those issues only allowing Lakota West 145 yards of total offense.
Ignatius Started out the year with a tough loss to a very good Lake Catholic team but rebounded in week two with a win over Bedfrod. I do not know much about St. Ignatius other than there storied history and thier record.
If Lancaster plays at their top level I think they have a shot to win this game.
What does everyone else think about this game?

I think Lancaster wins this one and heads into Tiger Stadium 3-0. I don't know much about Bedford but like you have heard Lake Catholic is a solid team. I saw Logan vs Pick North last night. Logan had a couple shining moments but North was just too much. Was the Lancaster/Logan game tight going into the second half?

The lancaster-logan game was 23-3 at halftime

Ignatius by 2 TDs. Just a hunch.

Ignatius knows how to travel and is used to driving all over the state and/or region to play games. They've been to some very unhospitable confines over the years, so they won't be intimidated heading in to Fulton Field.
All of that being said, Lancaster has a very good shot to win this one. People can write of Iggy's opening week lost for Lake Catholic as losing week 1 to a very good DII team. However, the Bedford team that they beat by 3 TDs is also DII and was only 2-8 last year. This is simply not the same Ignatius team as years passed.
In their defense, the Plain Dealer is reporting that their star RB Bobby Grebenc did not play in the Bedford game due to an ankle sprain. I think if he plays (and is healthy) the game is a toss up, leaning Lancaster. If he sits out another week, this game is all Lancaster.

I don't know much about Lancaster. If you have a good running game you should be able to move the ball against the Iggy defense. Being from Lake Catholic I can tell you this by far is the weakest Iggy defense in many, many years. However, they have a good offense and dangerous WR's. They are very fast and they have size on their offensive line, of course. I think the key in this game will be the Lancaster defense. Again, not very familiar with Lancaster so some insight on their defense would be great.

lchs: I think Lancaster attempted 2 passes last season.;) Coach Carpenter makes Hilliard Davidson look like Texas Tech by comparison. Ground and pound is what they do. Looks like the Gales can expect to be very competitive in this one.

Should be an exciting game in Lancaster this week. The Golden Gales have two good wins under their belt and as far as I know will head into this game healthy. My main concern for Lancaster are the defensive backs. They have got to learn to turn and see the ball. Pressure on the quarterback from our outstanding linebackers would certainly help. Is it Friday night yet ? Go Gales !

Lancaster's defense front 7 getting a lot of pressure on the QB will be key. If the Qb is pulling down the ball and running or making bad throws it will take a lot of pressure our DB's. Our linebackers I feel are the strongest part of our defense and will be the key like you say derby 4.

St. Iggy has this one... Not to knock the Lancaster program but I feel like the Golden Gales are gonna be overwhelmed.

Lancaster will move the ball on offense. I agree key is defense. They made huge improvements this week and were very impressive. It will be a good test but I disagree that we will be overwhelmed. These boys arent going to be intimidated mo matter what the score ends up. I think kudos should go to schools like Lancaster and Pickerington Central and North for having the backbone to schedule teams that test you rather than teams that you can simply run over like so many of the teams in the Central Ohio area.

I think this will be a close game. Not sure about the Lancaster defense, but you will need to get pressure on their QB. He has a good arm and size and with time, he will pick the defense apart. And like I stated above they have good WR's that are very fast.

One thing I am confident of is, after watching some of these teams in the Herbstreit Classic Lancaster could have competed in that. The Pickerington Game is two good teams but other than that where did they come up with these teams. Glenville got a gift from the refs and beat a team that couldnt even punt or kick an extra point. And from yesterday, Dublin Coffman had to be the most over rated team in the history of football. Please tell me Dublin QB just had a bad day. Their defense was just shredded bya team that Groveport beat the week before.

Joe Eitel's site is up and running. Although it doesn't matter much in the big scheme of things, Lancaster does not stand to get a near term points boost from Iggy (even if they win). Iggy only has 3 pts. Lancaster is ranked 4th in R3, tied with Davidson. Everyone in front of them are playing opponents with the same or more points. So, if all win out this week, Lancaster would likely stay no better than 4th in the region. As I said above, this is pretty meaningless, but it would have been sort of cool to add a 1 vs. 2 thing to the PC-Lancaster game. It also doesn't mean jack squat if Lancaster doesn't win this week. Good luck Gales!

Maybe JJ will give the Gales a little credit after this. Try to find a LHS player in the Huddle 2010 despite requests.
Good luck to the Gales tonight. Good luck CL, NF, CG, GR, CS, CR, KM, JJK, RK and all the GALES. Tons of talent and great team chemistry. These young men care about each other.

Image you one tigger taking a position on a Lancaster post. You are the defiiniont of suffering from little brother syndrom.
Pick central has a great coach and great players. I am happy to admit and acknowledge that. they also have the biggest db fan on the huddle in you. You must have a very small d... and need to compensate in other ways. I bet the Pick Central fans are even embarrased by you lame comments.
Once your unemployment checks run out and you have to go back to flippin burgers at McD's the rest of us won't have to read your written vomit.
now boys kiss and make up!!!
