Congratulations to former State champion and Ohio's own Lauren Davis on the stellar spring and early summer that she has had during 2010. Lauren is now ranked #13 in the world, yes that is the world, on the latest ITF Junior World Rankings.

Lauren won 5 matches over world ranked juniors to reach the finals at the Italian Open Junior Worlds in Rome this spring. Lauren then reached the quarterfinals at the French Open Juniors at Roland Garros early this summer.

Rumors are flying but nothing has been definitively stated about whether she will turn pro and join the WTA or attend college, basically at any school she would wish to attend.

Congratulations Lauren on a Super Job!

Rough poll - should she turn pro or go to college? Why?

Go for the money!! You can go back to college when you are done playing. Statistically, in the womens game, your legs will be gone by 26, and you will retired by 27. Have fun in Paris, Rome, Sydney, New York and all the other world tour tournament locations. No one else in your age group is going to be able to have those kinds of life experiences. A big chunk of them will still be waiting tables on campus when you return.

College is much easier when you are older. many athletes I have polled state that they have found that their ability to concentrate, filter out frivolous things and focus on school, just a higher level of maturity, is much better at 30 than at 20.
