Is this the year that the Big 10 finally redeems itself in the bowl games after numerous years of poor performances. They might be on the right track this year with Wisconsin's big win over Miami last night. Big 10 went 1-6 last year, so far 1-0. Can the others follow?

I think the Big Ten will have a decent bowl season. I think Minnesota, OSU, and maybe Iowa will get wins. I don't think Northwestern or Michigan State have a good chance, but the PSU/LSU game is really a toss-up.

I would agree with you for the most part. However, I think northwestern is stronger than most people think and I would but them closer to the win column. Also, Penn has a good chance if they play like they did at the beginning of the season, think Clark might have a big game being his last.

Clark has been pretty bad in important games over the last two years, so I'm not sure I share your speculation about him having a big game. I just think both PSU and LSU feature solid defenses, and I don't expect many big offensive plays.

Northwestern played really well to end the season, but I just think Auburn is a much better football team...that's not to say the Tigers can't perform poorly, though.

I could see 2-5 or 5-2 for the Big Ten in this bowl season.

^^^ Agreed, hoping for 5-2 at the worst!!

At the worst? I don't think that's a realistic expectation when four of the remaining six teams are underdogs.

It is nice to see the Big 10 off to a good start with Wisconsin winning. That was a nice win by Wisconsin...I didn't know if they could beat Miami (FL) or not...glad they did it.

I was suprised and pleased at the Wisconsin win. Would say 4-3 with OSU, Iowa, and Penn St going down

It was great to see the Miami fans in the cold and all the Miami players with long sleeves while the Wisconsin players were thinking "this is not cold, I know cold, and this is not it."

^^^ That was hilarious! The Miami players and fans made it look like it was 2 degrees.

I understand that the Big 10 is under dogs in several games.. But why not hope to go 7-0. Im not saying they will or that theres a good chance, but thats what I would like and hope to see.

The great thing ab college football and all sports is that anything can happen no matter how small the underdog... Last night being a good example.

I'm more of a realist than an optimist, but you're right...you should definitely hope for 7-0 because it is possible.

Big Ten hasn't had a winning bowl season since the 2002 season so they are due.

I hope everyone wins except Ohio State and I hope they go on to lose every game next year.
Maybe that will shut up their big mouth fans once and for all.

Wow, Irish Stew... guessing from the name you might be a ND fan, must still be sour from the past few times that OSU kicked the crap out of ND. Sorry to say OSU will be a better team next year than this year so a losing season is not anticipated. Dont worry tho... ND will maintain there average status for the next few years.

I think you just legitimized what Irish Stew was talking about. :D

Like how Wisky's bowl win was the biggest for the Big 11 since the 2003 fiesta bowl...

And dont give me the KSU or ND wins in BCS bowls. KSU was one of the worst BCS bowl teams of all time and ND got in simply because they are ND...

No. I can think of at least one game in the last couple seasons that was a huge win for the Big Ten, and that was Michigan beating Florida in the 2008 Capital One Bowl.

Pretty interesting Buckeye fans trash UM and want them to suffer but yet they will hang their hat on that win for the conference.

Not the biggest...just nice to see them win a game against a team that had "too much speed" for them...

Kansas State was the Big 12 Champs and SPANKED an undefeated Oklahoma team in the Big 12 championship game. Going in, we were told (by Mark May and others) that OSU was going to look like they were playing in army boots against KS speed. After we beat them it was no big deal, they weren't very good anyway

Notre Dame was in that BCS game because that season they were one of the big boys...as was Ohio St. Notre Dame had two losses, one against USC who beat them in the final seconds.

The Bucks had two losses as well...one a last minute loss to Texas - the national champions - and one to Penn St. who was 11-1 and won the Sugar Bowl against Florida St.

No secret that any true OSU fan LOVES to see michigan suffer....but wants to see the Big Ten do well.

The Big 10 will not win another Bowl Game. Minnesota was only chance but they continue to play Weber at the QB spot for some reason. I'm sure the kid is a leader but he can't throw and you need to be able to do that as a QB.

I don't see the Big Ten breaking their losing streak in bowl games this season. In the Rose Bowl I also think Ohio State comes home with the loss. The Big Ten now has a 6 game losing streak in the Rose Bowl since 2000 including 5 straight to the PacTen. Since the 2000 game in the 5 games between the PacTen and the Big Ten the PacTen has rolled over the Big Ten to the tune of 36-19 average points per game.

Yeah, but prior to that the Big Ten was 9-4 in the last thirteen Rose Bowls between the conferences.

Keep in mind that the Big Ten runner-up represented the conference two of those years 2007, 2008 because OSU played in the NC game.

The Big Ten won 4 in a row 1997-2000
They were 7-1 between 1993-2000
and 9-4 1988-2000

The Big Ten dominated in the 40's and 50's...pretty even in the 60's...the Pac Ten ruled the 70's into the 80's' ...then it was back and forth..

The Big Ten had a nice run in the 90's.

The conferences are split 26-26 overall in their Rose match ups. OSU is 7-7.

It goes in cycles.
