Ohio North-South Classic adds to remarkable Super Bowl run

Ben Rothlesberger_NS_jjhSunday was the 51st rendition of the NFL’s Super Bowl. Question: How many Super Bowls have had at least one Ohio HS North-South Classic alumnus in them? The answer is shocking. The nation’s longest-running high school all-star game, which will be contested for the 72nd time in April, has produced astonishing results on the sports grandest stage.

When the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons kicked off Super Bowl LI it marked the 48th time that at least one Ohio North-South Classic veteran has occupied a roster spot in the Super Bowl.

The only three Super Bowls with no Ohio North-South Classic alumni? II, XXXII and XLIX.

This year’s Ohio HS Super Bowl Players are:

Joe Thuney, Archbishop Alter (Kettering), OL, North Carolina State
Nate Ebner, Hilliard Davidson, DB, Ohio State

    I read the article and it forgot to tell us which player or players were on the North South squads. Not all Ohio players listed were.
