JJH_award_headerBucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This school year we are pleased to announce that the Ohio National Guard, Bucknuts and JJHuddle have again partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in several boys and girls sports.

Each week during the fall, winter and spring sports seasons (regular and post), we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive awards.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports’ JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Tuesday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. I nominate for week six the Sandusky Blue Streaks Boys Soccer team. Their defense has been outstanding, having only given up 18 goals through 13 games. This is the fewest amount of goals to be scored against them in the past 11 years. They are right behind Division II Northwest leaders Lexington who have only allowed 17 goals to be scored against them.
I nominate sophomore defender Nathan Nickles for boys soccer player of the week for week six. He is a key factor in the Blue Streaks strong back line on defense.

I would like to nominate Senior Jon Novak from North Olmsted High School’s Varsity Hockey team. Novak scored the game winning goal at SWC with 5:46 left in overtime, giving N.O. the chance to move on and win SWC this year. Most impressive is Novak’s dedication to his team and his modest approach to making such a great contribution to the team, being sure to give credit to his entire team for an overall job well done. Novak is quoted saying, ” It was a great goal and a team play.” Also notable, was Novak’s hat trick + one earlier this year helping N.O. start the season off with a win against Olmsted Falls, and Novak’s notable quote giving credit as a whole to his team, “There were guys out there throwing me the puck and clamping down on defense to open up the offense. It was a team win, and I’m just the one who happened to get lucky.”
