JJHuddle’s Ohio Girls Soccer Honor Roll: Bucknuts Weekly Player & Team of the Week Award Nominees


Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

Olentangy (VOTE)
Coming off their first district title, the Braves beat rival Olentangy Liberty 1-0 in the D-I regional semifinals. It was just the fourth goal Liberty had allowed all season and the first since Sept. 30.

Granville (VOTE)
The Blue Aces won their second straight D-II regional title with a 5-3 win over Hillsboro. Depth? Five different players scored for Granville.

Ottawa-Glandorf (VOTE)
The Titans stretched their win streak to 11 and captured the program’s first regional title with a 3-0 victory over Manchester in the D-III regional finals.

Dublin Coffman (VOTE)
The Shamrocks, who had lost in the regional final four straight years, broke through to beat Olentangy 2-0 in the D-I regional final. Coffman is a five-time state finalist, two-time champ.

Lima Bath (VOTE)
The Wildkittens punched the program’s first ticket to the state tournament with a 1-0 win over Clear Fork in a D-II regional final.

Elyria Catholic (VOTE)
The Panthers became the first program from Lorain County to make the girls state tournament with a 4-0 win over Mooney in the D-III regional finals. EC held Mooney, which had 133 goals this season, without a shot on goal.

Walsh Jesuit (VOTE)
The Warriors stretched their streak of state tournament berths to seven straight with a 7-1 win over North Royalton in a D-I regional final.

McNicholas (VOTE)
The Rockets won their 10th straight game and captured a D-II regional title with a 3-1 win over Tippecanoe.

Badin (VOTE)
The Rams stretched their unbeaten streak to 16 games (haven’t lost since Aug. 27) and captured a second straight D-III regional title with a 4-0 win over Lynchburg-Clay.


Taylor Beitzel, Granville (VOTE)
Scored two goals in the Blue Aces 3-2 D-II regional semifinal win over Columbus DeSales.

Ashley Dobbins, Akron Hoban (VOTE)
Scored two goals and had an assist in a 4-1 D-II regional semifinal win over CVCA.

Sydney Duggan, Magnificat (VOTE)
Scored two goals in regulation and one in the shootout as Magnificat beat Copley 3-2 in a D-I regional semifinal. Added an assist in Magnificat’s 2-1 double OT win over Perrysburg in the regional final.

Lexy Herman, Mooney (VOTE)
Finished the season with a state record-tying 38 assists in a season.

Caitlyn Grooms, McNicholas (VOTE)
Sophomore had a goal and four assists in the Rockets D-II regional sweep of Wyoming (7-0) and Tippecanoe (3-1).

Rachel Riley, Badin (VOTE)
Junior scored two goals in the Rams D-III regional final won over Lynchburg-Clay (4-0).

Stevie Holbrook, Elyria Catholic (VOTE)
Sophomore GK made five saves, including two in a penalty shootout, as the Panthers beat previously unbeaten Hawken 1-0 in a D-III regional semifinal. Followed that with her 13th shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory over Mooney in the regional final. Holbrook and EC have allowed one goal in the postseason.
