Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 11 GIRLS XC TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Centerville (VOTE)
The Elks won the program’s first state title and did so in convincing fashion. Centerville scored 52 points to runner-up Mason’s 92. The Elks had three runners in the Top 10.

McDonald (VOTE)
The Blue Devils won their first state title in program history when they won a tiebreak with Garaway to capture the D-III championship. Both McDonald and Garaway scored 113 points, but McDonald won via the sixth runner tiebreaker.

Granville (VOTE)
The Blue Aces won their first D-II girls state title with an 86-87 win over runner-up Lexington.

Garaway (VOTE)
The Pirates tied McDonald for the D-III state title, but lost the championship on a tiebreak (sixth runner). Garaway officially finished runner-up.

Lexington (VOTE)
The Minutemen finished runner-up by a point in D-II. Granville edged Lexington for the title 86-87.

WEEK 11 GIRLS XC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Sarah Kanney, Coldwater (VOTE)
Senior won the D-III individual state title with a time of 18:00.11, which was the fastest time turned in by any female in any division.

Dominique Clairmonte, Lexington (VOTE)
Junior won the D-II individual state title with a time of 18:17.10.

Brittany Atkinson, Liberty Center (VOTE)
Senior ran the second fastest time in any division and finished runner-up in D-III with a time of 18:05.54.

Lainey Studebaker, Centerville (VOTE)
Junior won the D-I individual state title with a time of 18:09.43.

Athena Welsh, St. Thomas Aquinas (VOTE)
Junior was one of just three runners in any division to run a sub-18:08 time at the state cross country meet. Welsh finished third in D-III with a time of 18:07.12.
