Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 9 BOYS XC TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Van Wert (VOTE)
The Cougars won the D-II district meet at Ottawa Memorial Park with a 27-48 victory over WBL-rival Defiance. Van Wert had four of the Top 7 runners.

Toledo St. Francis (VOTE)
The Knights dominated the D-I district 1 meet at Pearson Park with a 38-91 victory over runner-up Toledo Central Catholic.

Ashland (VOTE)
The Arrows dominated the D-I district 2 meet at Pearson Park with a 26-56 win over runner-up Toledo St. John’s. Ashland placed all five runners in the Top 10.

Seneca East (VOTE)
The Tigers had runners finish 1-3 en route to winning the D-III district meet at Galion with a 44-63 victory over runner-up Hopewell-Loudon.

Maplewood (VOTE)
The Rockets finished with 26 points to win the D-III district meet at the Trumball County Fairgrounds.

Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (VOTE)
The Irish beat runner-up Woodridge 41-47 to capture the D-II district meet Goodyear Heights Metro Park.

River View (VOTE)
The Black Bears won the D-II district A meet at Cambridge with a 60-point win (37-97) over runner-up Sandy Valley.

Wyoming (VOTE)
The Cowboys won the D-II district A race at Voice of America Park by placing five runners in the Top 10 en route to beating runner-up Taylor 23-62.

Leesburg Fairfield (VOTE)
The Lions dominated the D-III district 1 race at Rio Grande by placing six runners in the Top 10 en route to beating runner-up Manchester 71-20.

St. Thomas Aquinas (VOTE)
The Knights almost swept the top five spots and scored 16 points en route to winning the D-III district title at Malone University. Aquinas placed all seven of its runners in the Top 10.

WEEK 9 BOYS XC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Connor Holliday, Van Wert (VOTE)
Won the D-II district meet at Ottawa Memorial Park with a time of 16:43.1.

Bayley Tow, Lincolnview (VOTE)
Won the D-III district 2 meet at Ottawa Memorial Park with a time of 16:20.4.

George McCartney, Toledo Central Catholic (VOTE)
Senior won the D-I district 1 meet at Pearson Park with a time of 15:50.9.

Quintin Reiser, Wauseon (VOTE)
Senior won the D-II district meet at Liberty Center with a time of 15:55.01.

Vinny DeFelice, West Holmes (VOTE)
Won the D-II district B race at Cambridge with a time of 16:24.

Micah Bragg, Dayton Christian (VOTE)
Senior won the D-III district A race at the Miami Valley Career Tech Center in Dayton with a time of 16:17.

Ben Stites, Wyoming (VOTE)
Senior won the D-II district A race at Voice of America Park with a time of 15:57.01.

Sam Williamson, Antwerp (VOTE)
Junior ran a 16:03 to win the D-III district 1 race at Ottawa.

Clay Martin, Colonel Crawford (VOTE)
Senior won the D-III district 1 race at Galion with a narrow victory over teammate Chad Johnson (16:14.92-16:16.15). The Eagles also won the team title.

Logan Smith, Mineral Ridge (VOTE)
Senior won the D-III district race at the Trumball County Fairgrounds with a time of 15:53.18.
