Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 8 BOYS SOCCER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Tyler Stewart, Minerva (VOTE)
Scored three goals and had two assists in a 12-2 win over Carrollton.

Casey Lindstrom, South Range (VOTE)
Scored three goals and had an assist in a 5-1 win over Columbiana.

Travis Picquet, Eastlake North (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 9-0 win over Geneva.

Koen Riehl, John Glenn (VOTE)
Scored four goals (including a hat trick in the first half) in a 9-2 win over Morgan that wrapped up an undefeated MVL title.

Chad Frommer, Liberty-Benton (VOTE)
Scored four gals (all in the second half) of a 9-0 win over Cory-Rawson. L-B led just 1-0 at halftime.

Kurt Raney, Mentor (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 4-2 win over North Royalton.

Caleb Creasap, Marion Pleasant (VOTE)
Scored five goals in a 12-0 win over Gahanna Christian.

WEEK 8 BOYS SOCCER TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Botkins (VOTE)
The Trojans hit a program milestone when they notched the school’s (and head coach Kevin Lynch’s) 100th victory with a 2-0 victory over Twin Valley South.

Badger (VOTE)
The Braves won their 13th straight game and captured their 12th straight Northeast Athletic Conference title with a 5-0 win over Lordstown. Badger has outscored opponents 90-9 this season.

Beachwood (VOTE)
Bison captured a share of the Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division with a 3-0 win over Harvey.

St. Ignatius (VOTE)
The Wildcats won the Showcase Division of the Gateway HS Tournament in St. Louis with a 2-0 shutout win over South Kent (Conn.), which was ranked No. 5 in the nation at the time.

Minerva (VOTE)
The Lions won a share of their first ever Northeastern Buckeye Conference title with a 12-2 victory over Carrollton.

Berea-Midpark (VOTE)
The Titans won their second straight SWC title with a 4-0 win over North Olmsted.

Lexington (VOTE)
The Minutemen snapped Ashland’s 29-game Ohio Cardinal Conference win streak and captured the OCC title with a 3-1 win. It was Lexington’s first win over Ashland since 2010.

Beavercreek (VOTE)
The Beavers supplied head coach John Guiliano with career win No. 350 in a 4-0 victory over Fairmont that also clinched a share of the GWOC Central Division title.

Independence (VOTE)
The Blue Devils beat Wellington 7-1 to set the school record for goals in a season with 72.

Carroll (VOTE)
The Patriots beat rivals Chaminade Julienne (4-2) and Alter (2-0) to defend their GCL North title.
