Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 10 BOYS GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Ryan Fowler, Warren JFK (VOTE)
Senior shot 143 at North Star GC to win D-III state tournament medalist honors by five strokes. Fowler’s opening round of 71 is tied for second-best in state tourney rouds at North Star, while his final round 72 is tied for fourth-best.

Ben Olewiler, Ashland Crestview (VOTE)
Senior shot a North Star GC D-III state tournament record round of 70 on the first day of the state tournament.

Charlie Toman, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (VOTE)
Freshman made presence known on statewide stage by capturing D-II state tournament medalist honors at OSU’s Gray Course. Toman shot a 153 to win by a stroke. He’s NDCL’s first state medalist.

Ryan Mallette, Canton Central Catholic (VOTE)
Junior shot a 154 at the D-II state tournament at OSU’s Gray Course to finish runner-up individually and lead the Crusaders to their third state team title in school history.

Connor Yakubov, St. Charles (VOTE)
Senior shot a 68 to earn medalist honors at the D-I district tournament at Apple Valley GC.

Anton Krecic, St. Edward (VOTE)
Senior earned medalist honors at the D-I district tournament at Pine Hills GC with an even-par 71.

Jack Mancinotti, Toledo St. John’s (VOTE)
Shot a 68 to earn medalist honors at the D-I district tournament at Red Hawk Run GC.

Kirran Magowan, St. Xavier (VOTE)
Shot a 73 to earn medalist honors at the D-I district tournament at Weatherwax GC.

WEEK 10 BOYS GOLF TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Columbus Academy (VOTE)
The Vikings won their seventh state golf title – but first since 1999 – with a 635-642 win over defending state champion Ottawa Hills at North Star GC. Academy and OH both shot North Star course D-II record rounds of 314. The Vikings were seven strokes better on Day 2.

Ottawa Hills (VOTE)
Defending state champions shot a North Star GC D-III tournament record round of 314 on the first day of the state tournament. OH eventually finished state runner-up for the sixth time.

Canton Central Catholic (VOTE)
The Crusaders made their 18th appearance at the state tournament and won their third state title with a 24-stroke win over runner-up Watterson in the D-II state tournament at OSU’s Gary Course. CCC has been state runner-up six times.

St. Charles (VOTE)
The Cardinals won the D-I district tournament at Apple Valley GC with a four-stroke win over runner-up Upper Arlington (301-305).

St. Ignatius (VOTE)
Shot a 309 to win the D-I district title at Pine Hills GC by five strokes over St. Edward.

Toledo St. John’s (VOTE)
The Titans won the D-I district tournament at Red Hawk Run GC with a six-stroke victory over runner-up Sylvania Northview (304-301).

St. Xavier (VOTE)
The Bombers won a tiebreaker with rival Moeller to capture the D-I district tournament title at Weatherwax GC.
