Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards
This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.
Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.
How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 7 GIRLS SOCCER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Rachel Baughman, Louisville (VOTE)
Scored a school record six goals and surpassed 100 for her career in the process in a 6-1 win over GlenOak. Also had three goals and an assist in a 5-0 win over Alliance and four goals and an assist in a 6-1 win over Normandy.
Jen Wisniewski, Independence (VOTE)
Senior set the school record for goals in a game with five in a 7-0 win over Berkshire.
Marissa Stone, Amelia (VOTE)
Senior scored five goals in a 10-0 win over Goshen.
Ellyse McKenzie, Bloom-Carroll (VOTE)
Scored five goals in a 9-0 win over Teays Valley.
Abby Davies, Newark (VOTE)
Scored five goals in a 15-2 win over Northland.
Cassie Daye, Wickliffe (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 5-2 win over Trinity.
Erin Torrence, Hudson (VOTE)
Scored three goals and had an assist in a 5-0 win over Mentor.
Naya Boualany, Chippewa (VOTE)
Sophomore scored four goals in a 6-2 win over Norwayne.
Lexi Potter, Milan Edison (VOTE)
Goalie made 18 saves in a 1-1 tie with SBC undefeated Huron.
Jenna Stegmaier, Cuyahoga Heights (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 7-0 win over Painesville Harvey.
WEEK 7 GIRLS SOCCER TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Walsh Jesuit (VOTE)
The Warriors beat rival Akron SVSM 12-0.
Hathaway Brown (VOTE)
The Blazers handed previously unbeaten and then state-ranked No. 2 Chagrin Falls its first loss 4-2.
Gilmour Academy (VOTE)
The Lancers have nine shutouts in 13 games and have allowed six goals. Beat Chardon 6-0 and tied Padua Franciscan 1-1.
The Yellow Jackets recorded their sixth shutout in eight games and won at least a share of the GWOC North Division title for the first time since 2011 with a 3-0 victory over Troy.
Niles McKinley (VOTE)
The Red Dragons won the AAC White Division title with a 1-1 tie against Lakeview.
The Cardinals finished perfect (8-0) in AAC Red Division play with a 2-1 win at Austintown-Fitch.
The Chipps took command of the WCAL and moved a step closer to winning their ninth league title in 10 years with a 6-2 win over previous WCAL unbeaten Norwayne. Chippewa also shut out Hillsdale for their ninth shutout in 12 games.
The Panthers won their second GWOC South Division title in three years with a 4-1 win over Fairborn.
