Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 8 BOYS GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Evan Brouwer, Dayton Christian (VOTE)
Senior captain shot a 76 to win medalist honors at the Metro Buckeye Conference Postseason Tournament. The programs most decorated golfer ever, Brouwer also set the single season scoring record and was named the MBC POY.

Ben Jones, Padua Franciscan (VOTE)
Shot a 75 to earn medalist honors at Aurora’s Distillata Invitational at Barrington GC by a stroke.

Austin Bagshaw, Hillsboro (VOTE)
Shot a 36 to win medalist honors at the SCOL Golf Championships.

Ryan Fowler, Warren JFK (VOTE)
Defended his North Coast League White Division championship by six strokes when he shot a 68 at Pine Hills GC. Followed that by firing a 67 to win the D-II sectional at Riverview GC.

Caden Orewiler, River Valley (VOTE)
Shot a 72 at Oakhaven GC to earn medalist honors by four strokes in the D-II sectional.

Damon Moore, Meadowbrook (VOTE)
Shot 71 to earn medalist honors in the D-II sectional at River Greens GC.

Andrew Harley, New Lexington (VOTE)
Shot a 72 to earn medalist honors at the D-II sectional at Jaycees GC.

Mitchell McFarland, Wheelersburg (VOTE)
Shot a 68 to earn medalist honors by four strokes at the D-II sectional at Shawnee State Park.

Michael Schnur, Kirtland (VOTE)
Freshman shot a 71 to earn medalist honors at the D-III sectional at Pine Hills GC.

Isaac Hartley, Bellevue (VOTE)
Senior shot 75 to win medalist honors at the D-II sectional at Sawmill Creek GC.

WEEK 8 BOYS GOLF TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Dayton Christian (VOTE)
A year after finishing second to last, the Warriors won the Metro Buckeye Conference title and had conference’s top three golfers.

Walsh Jesuit (VOTE)
The Warriors won the North Coast League Blue Division (and overall) Postseason Tournament by shooting a 309 at Pine Hills GC. Walsh also won the team title at Aurora’s Distillata Invitational at Barrington GC by edging St. Edward 322-323.

Bellevue (VOTE)
The Redmen won the D-II sectional at Sawmill Creek GC by 21 strokes (shot 310). The Northern Ohio League champions also won the Edison Invitational at Sawmill Creek by shooting 313.

River Valley (VOTE)
The Vikings shot 312 to win the D-II sectional title at Oakhaven GC by 12 strokes over runner-up Bexley.

Watterson (VOTE)
The Eagles won the D-II sectional title at the Players Club at Firefox by shooting a 322 to beat Johsntown-Monroe by three strokes. Bloom-Carroll finished third with 329.

Fisher Catholic (VOTE)
The Irish shot 317 to win the D-III sectional title at Pine Hill GC. Newark Catholic finished eight strokes back.

Fairfield Union (VOTE)
The Falcons won the D-II sectional at the Jaycees GC by 10 strokes over runner-up Unioto.

Piketon (VOTE)
The Red Streaks shot 313 to win the D-II sectional at Shawnee Park by 17 strokes over runner-up Gallia Academy.

McNicholas (VOTE)
The Rockets shot 317 to win the D-II sectional at Sharon Woods GC by a stroke over runners-up Wyoming and Maderia.

Talawanda (VOTE)
The Braves won the Southwest Ohio Conference Tournament by 34 strokes over runner-up Harrison at Weatherwax GC.
