Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 6 BOYS XC TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Leesburg Fairfield (VOTE)
The Lions won their fifth straight Highland County Invitational title with a 26-29 win over runner-up Hillsboro.

Uniontown Lake (VOTE)
The Blue Streaks continued their undefeated fall by winning the program’s first ever Stark County Cross Country Championships team title with a 10-point win over runner-up Louisville.

Olentangy Orange (VOTE)
The Pioneers won the 32-team Pickerington North Invitational with a 71-98 win over runner-up Lexington.

St. Xavier (VOTE)
The Bombers won the Division I race at their own 19-team St. Xavier Invitational with a 63-87 win over runner-up Lakota East.

Fairfield Christian (VOTE)
The Knights won London’s 24-team Erin L Nance Distance Classic with a dominating 77-134 win over runner-up Columbus Academy.

Perkins (VOTE)
The Pirates won the 26-team Vermillion Invitational by a point (99-100) over Willard.

Piketon (VOTE)
The Red Streaks won their own 21-team Piketon Invitational with a 59-84 win over runner-up Canal Winchester. Piketon had three runners in the Top 5.

LaSalle (VOTE)
The Lancers won the 19-team Fairmont Invitational with a 70-78 win over Elder.

Dublin Coffman (VOTE)
The Rocks won the 23-team Midwest Meet of Champions at Hilliard Darby with a 80-85 win over St. Ignatius.

Woodridge (VOTE)
The Bulldogs won their own 23-team Woodridge Invitational with a 73-97 win over Watkins Memorial.

WEEK 6 BOYS XC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Jacob Kernell, Uniontown Lake (VOTE)
Defended his Stark County Cross Country Championships title with a time of 15:56.9. Kernell is the first Lake runner to defend his title at the Stark County meet.

Mitchell Poynter, Tippecanoe (VOTE)
Junior won the Miami County Championship with a time of 15:40.

Kane Dixon, Piketon (VOTE)
Ran 15:50.90 to win the Piketon Invitational.

Nick Stricklen, Lexington (VOTE)
Junior won the 32-team Pickerington North Invitational with a time of 16:15. 70.

Michael Vitucci, St. Xavier (VOTE)
Senior won the St. Xavier Invitational y less than a second (15:32.20-15:32.70) over runner-up Ethan Shuley of Highlands (Ky.).

Eli Reed, Grandview Heights (VOTE)
Won London’s 24-team Erin L Nance Distance Classic with a time of 17:16.73.

James Hawks, Elyria (VOTE)
Senior won the 26-team Vermillion Invitational with a time of 16:44.81.

Harish Prabhakaran, Beavercreek (VOTE)
Senior won the 19-team Fairmont Invitational with a time of 16:24.00.

Luke Wagner, St. Ignatius (VOTE)
Junior won the Midwest Meet of Champions at Hilliard Bradley with a time of 15:40.35.

Griffin Butler, Licking Valley (VOTE)
Won the Cambridge Invitational with a time of 16:15.94.
