Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 4 GIRLS SOCCER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Sophie Gorman, McNicholas (VOTE)
Sophomore and GCL’s leading scorer (18 points) netted two game-winning goals last week in victories over Alter and Cincinnati St. Ursula to help the Rockets remain unbeaten. Her game-winner against Alter broke a scoreless tie in the final minute.

Emma Box, Graham (VOTE)
Senior had four goals and two assists in the Falcons first win over the season – a 6-0 decision over Mechanicsburg.

Lauren Gokey, Cloverleaf (VOTE)
Senior set a school record with six goals in a 9-0 win over Black River.

Ally Brown, Amelia (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 5-1 win over Western Brown. Added five more in a 7-0 win over Bethel-Tate.

Erin Hoeh, West Geauga (VOTE)
Scored four goals and added an assist in a 7-1 win over Beachwood.

Dayle Hedges, Amanda-Clearcreek (VOTE)
Scored four goals in a 6-2 win over Bloom-Carroll.

Julei Vazquez, Mooney (VOTE)
Leads the state in scoring with 61 points. Has 24 goals and 13 assists.

WEEK 4 GIRLS SOCCER TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Olentangy Liberty (VOTE)
The Patriots remained unbeaten (7-0-1) and ran their shutout streak to four straight with wins over Marysville (3-0) and Olentangy Orange (2-0). Liberty has outscored opponents 30-2 and has six shutouts.

Hudson (VOTE)
Explorers improved to 9-0 with wins over North Royalton and Copley. Hudson has outscored foes 29-2 and has seven shutouts.

Akron SVSM (VOTE)
The Irish improved to 8-0 with wins over CVCA and Kenston. SVSM has outscored opponents 24-2 and has seven shutouts.

Lehman Catholic (VOTE)
Cavaliers (6-0-2) remained unbeaten with a win over Botkins and a tie against Summit Country Day. Lehamn has outscored opponnents 34-6 and has four shutouts.

Grandview Heights (VOTE)
The Bobcats continued their torrid start and remained unbeaten by shutting out The Wellington School and West Jefferson. GH has six shutouts and has outscored foes 29-2.

Jackson (VOTE)
The Ironmen improved to 8-0 with wins over Athens and Minford. Jackson has scored 41 goals this season and allowed 10.

Oak Hills (VOTE)
The Highlanders improved to 8-0 with wins over McAuley, Middletown, Fairfield and Milford. OH has outscored opponent 31-3 and has six shutouts.

Walsh Jesuit (VOTE)
The Warriors improved to 6-0-1 with wins over Holy Name and Dublin Coffman. WJ has scored 34 goals and allowed five. It has three shutouts.
