JJHuddle’s Ohio Girls Cross Country Honor Roll: Bucknuts Weekly Player & Team of the Week Award Nominees


Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

Hannah Sponaugle, Eastwood (VOTE)
Won the individual title at the Northern Buckeye Conference Jamboree by over THREE minutes. Sponaugle ran 20:57.11, while the second place runner crossed in 24:09.32.

Bethany Koons, Tuslaw (VOTE)
Ran 20:52 to win the East Canton Invitational by nearly a minute. The second place runner finished in 21:47.

Taylor Vernot, Wauseon (VOTE)
Reigning D-II state champion won the 19-team Red Division title at the Columbus Grove Invite with a time of 18:35.1.

Chloe Flora, Botkins (VOTE)
Won the 15-team Gray Division title at the Columbus Grove Invite with a time of 19:29.8.

Athena Welsh, St. Thomas Aquinas (VOTE)
Junior remained unbeaten on the season with a victory at the 17-team Dave Clegg Invitational. Finished is 18:50.1.

Abbie VanFossen, Lakota East (VOTE)
Senior won the 18-team Miamisburg Invitational with a time of 20:02.7.

Vanessa Robinson, Dublin Scioto (VOTE)
Senior won the Ashland Invitational with a time of 20:12.45.

Sarah Kanney, Coldwater (VOTE)
Senior won the Greenville Treaty Invitational D-II title by 54 seconds with a time of 18:32.

Fallon Doyle, Bellaire St. John (VOTE)
Senior won the Newcomerstown Invitational with a time of 19:28.73.

Ann Heuerman, Upper Arlington (VOTE)
Junior won the Hilliard Davidson Asics Hot Summer Bash with a time of 19:05.90.


Louisville (VOTE)
Leopards won the East Canton Invitational with a 51-16 decision over runner-up Tuslaw.

Wauseon (VOTE)
The Indians won the 19-team Red Division at the Columbus Grove Invite in convincing fashion. Wauseon outscored runner-up New Haven 9Ind.) 65-119.

Minster (VOTE)
The Indians won the 15-team Gray Division at the Columbus Grove Invite in convincing fashion. Minster tallied 27 points as all five of its runners finished in the Top 10.

Miamisburg (VOTE)
The Vikings won their own 18-team invite by a 31-66 win over runner-up Bellbrook.

Bellevue (VOTE)
The Redmen won the title at the 20-team Bucyrus Elks Invitational with an 80-92 victory over runner-up Olmsted Falls.

Dublin Scioto (VOTE)
The Irish dominated the Ashland Invitational by placing five runners in the top eight. Scioto’s sixth runner finished ninth. The Irish scored 24 points to beat runner-up Strongsville (62).

Tippecanoe (VOTE)
The Red Devils put all five runners in the Top 10 and scored 32 points en route to winning the D-I team title at the Treaty City Greenville Invitational. Runner-up Troy had 53 points.

Russia (VOTE)
The Raiders continued outstanding start to the season by winning the Greenville Treaty Invitational D-II title. Russia scored 51 points to runner-up Alter’s 63.

Granville (VOTE)
The Blue Aces won their won 17-team Invitational with a 51-75 win over runner-up Olentangy.

Canal Winchester (VOTE)
The Indians won their own 16-team Canal Winchester Invitational with a 71-91 win over runner-up Columbus School for Girls.
