Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 3 GIRLS GOLF PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Christine Cooper, Canfield (VOTE)
Earned medalist honors at the 21-team Ashland’s George Valentine Memorial Invitational by shooting a 70 at Brookside GC.

Zoie Nieto, Van Buren (VOTE)
Fired a 40 to win co-medalist honors with Findlay’s Suzanne Short in a NWOGGL triangular meet at Fostoria GC.

Makayla Dull, Lakota (VOTE)
Shot a 38 to earn medalist honors at a tri-meet with St. Wendelin and Old Fort.

Shelby Bum, Seneca East (VOTE)
Shot a 47 to earn medalist honors in her program’s first ever match – a loss to Old Fort.

Suzaane Short, Findlay (VOTE)
Fired a 40 to win co-medalist honors with Van Buren’s Zoie Nieto in a NWOGGL triangular meet at Fostoria GC.

WEEK 3 GIRLS GOLF TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Kent Roosevelt (VOTE)
The Roughriders won the 12-team Hudson Lady Explorer Invite at Lake Forest CC by shooting 315. Sophomore Kory Nielson led Kent by earning medalist honors with a 74. Her twin sisters – seniors Kasey and Kelly – tied for third (76). Trio also helped Roghriders win the Midwest Division title of the Midwest Girls Golf Classic at Skyland Pines. Kasey was medalist (74), while Kelly and Kory shot 75 and 76, respectively. Kent beat runner-up Coffman 315-317.

Canfield (VOTE)
Won the team title at the 21-team Ashland HS George Valentine Memorial Invitational with a 304 at Brookside GC. Runner-up Dover shot 325.

Hudson (VOTE)
Won a scorecard playoff to beat Canton Central Catholic and win the Ohio Division title of the Midwest Girls Golf Classic at Skyland Pines.

Kenton Ridge (VOTE)
The Cougars went 3-0 in dual meets last week with wins over Carroll, Greenon and Miami East.
