Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards

This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.

Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 1 BOYS SOCCER ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Chase Hilliard, Beaver (VOTE)
Senior scored seven goals in an 11-1 win over Carrollton.

Tyler Stewart, Minerva (VOTE)
Scored five goals in a season-opening 6-2 win over Tuscarawas Valley to set a new school record with 100 career goals. The old record of 99 was held by Matt Bedner.

Brandon Kmitt, Brookside (VOTE)
Became the Cardinals all-time leading scorer (43 goals) with two goals in 6-0 win over Cloverleaf.

Brandon Miller, Upper Sandusky (VOTE)
Scored five goals and had an assist in a 9-2 win over River Valley.

Austin Terra, Louisville (VOTE)
Tied a program regular season record when he scored four goals in a season-opening 5-0 victory over Fairless.

Ian Moore, Barberton (VOTE)
Junior midfielder scored two goals and had two assists in a 6-2 win over Canton Timken.

Tyler Thomas, Granville (VOTE)
Led Blue Aces to season-opening 7-2 win over Licking Heights by scoring four goals.

Hunter Miles, Chillicothe Southeastern (VOTE)
Scored four goals and had two assists in a 7-3 win over Amanda-Clearcreek.

Ryan Hammer, John Glenn (VOTE)
Scored four goals in the Muskies 8-4 win over West Muskingum.

Ryan Turner, Van Buren (VOTE)
Scored three goals and had an assist in a 4-0 win over Bowling Green.

WEEK 1 BOYS SOCCER TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

Eastlake North (VOTE)
Despite being a man down for much of the second half, the Rangers beat North Olmsted for the first time ever 3-2. Also shut out Brush 3-0.

Barberton (VOTE)
The Magics opened the season with three straight shutouts over Cloverleaf, Timken and Cuyahoga Falls.

Elida (VOTE)
Won its own Elida Classic with a 2-1 win over Ottoville. Game was decided on the second set of penalty kicks.

Beavercreek (VOTE)
The Beavers started the season 2-0 with shutout road wins over Xenia and Perrysburg. Outscored the Buccaneers and Yellow jackets 14-0.

Vandalia Butler (VOTE)
The Aviators started season 3-0 with wins over Centerville, Chaminade Julienne and Newton.

McNicholas (VOTE)
Rockets opened the season with wins over Batavia, Cincinnati Country Day and Anderson.

Walsh Jesuit (VOTE)
The Warriors started the season 4-0 with impressive wins over GlenOak, Uniontown Lake, Toledo St. John’s and St. Xavier. Walsh outscored its four opponents 13-1.

Middletown (VOTE)
The Middies reached double-digit goals in two of their first three games as they opened the season 3-0 with wins over Miamisburg (2-1), Winton Woods (10-3) and West Carrollton (11-0).

Sycamore (VOTE)
The Aves opened the season with three straight shutouts over Milford, Elder and Turpin.

Solon (VOTE)
The Comets rebounded from a loss to St. Ignatius to beat Brush, North Royalton and Kenston.
