Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Awards
This fall we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in girls golf, boys golf, boys soccer, girls soccer, volleyball, boys cross country, girls cross country and girls tennis.
Each week (regular and postseason) during the fall sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive a personalized award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.
How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 1 BOYS XC ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Luke Wagner, St. Ignatius (VOTE)
Junior won the OHSAA Preseason HS Invitational Section B title by .01 seconds over runner-up Nick Grismer of Mason.
Joe Rossetti, Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (VOTE)
Senior won the Section F individual title at the OHSAA Preseason Invitational with a time of 16:32.29.
Tom Ballas, Fort Loramie (VOTE)
Sophomore won the Shelby County Cross Country Preview with a time of 17:04.9.
Austin Hallabrin, Mount Gilead (VOTE)
Won the 15-team Upper Sandusky Icebreaker Invitational in 17:04.38.
Colin Theis, Bucyrus (VOTE)
Won the Keystone Icebreaker Invitational by over 14 seconds with a time of 16:46.11.
Michael Vitucci, St. Xavier (VOTE)
Senior won the Moeller Primetime Invitational with a timew of 16:18.99.
Kevin Jones, Marengo Highland (VOTE)
Finished first at the Northmor Invitational with a time of 16:49.90.
Kyle Mau, Hudson (VOTE)
Senior won the 32-team GlenOak Invitational with a time of 16:05.3
Mycah Grandstaff, Convoy Crestview (VOTE)
Senior won the 14-team Delphos St. John’s Invitational by nearly two full minutes. Grandstaff finished first in 16:39.47. The second place runner crossed in 18:36.
Carson Pipher, Seneca East (VOTE)
Senior won the 19-team Seneca East Tiger Classic with a time of 16:34.27.
WEEK 1 BOYS XC TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
St. Ignatius (VOTE)
The Wildcats won the OHSAA Preseason HS Invitational Section B team title by scoring a 64-71 win over runner-up Mason. Ignatius had all seven runners finish in the Top 30.
Hilliard Davidson (VOTE)
The Wildcats finished third overall in Section B at the OHSAA Preseason Invitational but HD had three of the Top 6 individual runners (Colin Burdette – 3rd, Luke Hoover – 5th and Alex Steits – 6th).
The Leopards won the Section F team title at the OHSAA Preseason Invitational with a score of 67. Akron SVSM was runner-up with 97 points. Louisville’s Top four runners finished 2nd, 3rd, 11th and 19th. The Leopards also won the 32-team GlenOak Invite with an 81-94 victory over runner-up St. Ignatius.
Won the Shelby County Cross Country Preview by edging runner-up Botkins 56-61.
Bay Village Bay (VOTE)
Won the 15-team Upper Sandusky Icebreaker Invitational with a 63-84 win over runner-up Columbus Grove. Also won West Shore Conference Preview meet.
Edged Medina Buckeye 48-52 to win the 11-team Keystone Icebreaker Invite. All five of scored runners finished in the Top 20. Sixth runner was 19th.
St. Xavier (VOTE)
The Bombers dominated the Moeller Primetime Invitational by recording a 51-point margin of victory. St. X scored 22 points, while Moeller was runner-up with 73. St. X had three of the top five runners.
The Freddies won the title at the 11-team Northmor Invitational thanks to the fact that all five of their scoring runners finished in the Top 10 (2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th). Their seventh runner finished 26th. Fredericktown scored 32 points to runner-up Marengo Highland’s 54.
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (VOTE)
Won the 20-team Berkshire Early Bird Invite. Outscored runner-up Chardon 68-103.
New Bremen (VOTE)
The Cardinals won the 14-team Delphos St. John’s Invitational with a one-point win over runner-up Lincolnview (48-49).
