Ohio HS Football Coaches Comments on 2 being multiplier for FB under new Compettive Balance rules….

“Public and private (and those with open enrollment) need to be completely divided.”

“2 seems like a good number.”

“Not sure. No one will know until we see how divisions play out with new formula.”

“Not sure exactly how to do this in a fair way.”

“Once again quit messing with things. I’m tired of people whinning. We go through this every year. There is no quick fix. Just leave it alone.”

“Don’t understand the rule or the reason for the rule.”

“I do not know what is sufficient.”

“Unsure.”

“Private school rosters can dramatically change from season to season with the amount of recruiting and marketing/advertising that the private schools do on a year to year basis. I believe the hardest thing to do in Ohio is win a public school state championship because of all the exceptions private schools get in the transfer policies and ease of inter district transfers.”

“The whole thing is silly.”

“I don’t think it will have much impact. I would be interested to see if three would be a more logical number.”

“Way too small. The teams that really need to jump a division or two or three will barely be affected.”

“I don’t know. It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. I was not for any change whatsoever. I thought the current system was as good as it could be.”

“The thing sucks.”

“I have no idea, I teach physics and I don’t completely understand the formula yet.”

Put an end to all this whining and crying. Have four public divisions and two private(Read Catholic, which these complainers are afraid to say) and let the chips fall where they may.

Those that are unhappy with the x2 multiplier will never be happy until there is a complete split and they do not have to play any open enrollment school. Open enrollment public or private.

Those who don’t think the x2 multiplier is enough will never be happy until there is a complete split from the open enrollment schools, public and private. You can read the vitriol in some of their comments.

being a member of the OHSAA is a privilege ..ergo , the responsibility of proving you run a clean program via open enrollment or parochial should be a burden on the school itself not the OHSAA. Higher penalties should exist so no school would even entertain the thought of recruiting or using illegal players
