Ohio HS Football Coaches Comments on Seven State FInals….

“Big schools need more dividing. Small schools need to be clumped together.”

“Seven divisions is too many.”

“I don’t mind the 7 divisions in football but there should be 4 regions in division 1 instead of 2 regions.”

“I think adding a 7th division was a necessary adjustment due to the smaller schools with such small rosters. However, I feel it is watering down the sport.”

“Still think there should be a separated Private/public playoffs system, so 7 would work. This 7 division all together still doesn’t make sense.”

“I still believe Division I has too large of a discrepancy from the smallest to largest in enrollment.”

“I like seven divisions. But they should divide them evenly into seven divisions. Current format waters down D1 and D7.”

“If seven divisions is ok for FB, why not basketball…baseball…”

“Six was better.”

“It is a big improvement.”

“No strong feelings. I can only speak for what I know, but a few of the small school regions got watered-down quite a bit.”

“I think there should be 5 public divisions & 2 private divisions.”

“Watered down in big school. We are D4 and would have qualified in D1 last season. Moneymaker for OHSAA.”

“I think we should go to eight like Michigan.”
