Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 9 GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Allison Martz, Worthington Kilbourne (VOTE)
Junior was a terror in the tournament. She had eight goals and four assists in a victory over Cincinnati Seton; six goals, including the winner in double overtime, and two assists in a 13-12 victory over Bexley; and four goals in a 17-7 win over Indian Hill in the D-II state final.

*Abby Wise, Sycamore (VOTE)
Goalie made seven saves in the Lady Aves 14-6 win over Medina in the D-I state final.

*Sara Constand, Sycamore (VOTE)
Held Medina standout Amanda Rom to no goals and one assist in the Lady Aves 14-6 win over Medina in the D-I state final.

*Kara Hines, Worthington Kilbourne (VOTE)
Scored six goals in a 17-7 win over Indian Hill in the D-II state final.

WEEK 9 GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Sycamore (VOTE)
The Lady Aves won their third state title with a 14-6 win over Medina in the state final. Sycamore finished 20-0. It also won state titles in 2007 and 2009. “This was our best team ever,” Sycamore head coach Eddie Clark told Cincinnati.com. “If you’d ask people around the state, they might say this is the best team ever in Ohio. We were just so deep.” The Lady Aves opened up a 6-1 lead and were ahead 11-3 at halftime.

*Worthington Kilbourne (VOTE)
The Wolves overwhelmed Indian Hill 17-7 to win their first state championship. Kilbourne lost in last year’s state final and in the state semis in 2012. The Wolves scored 17 goals on 19 shots
