Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 9 BOYS TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Nathan Griffin, St. Ignatius (VOTE)
Junior won the D-I singles state title (the Wildcats first ever) with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win over Springboro’s Zach Berry.

*Asher Hirsch, Cincinnati Country Day (VOTE)
Junior defended his state title by beating teammate and freshman J.J. Wolf in the D-II state singles final. The match was 3-6, 7-5 after two sets before Wolf retired with cramps.

*Patrick Wildman and Kevin Yu, Cincinnati Country Day (VOTE)
Duo won the D-II state doubles title with a marathon 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) victory over Columbus Academy’s Ryan Jung and Shrikar Kundar.

* Mustafa Ahmad and Nakul Narendran, Sycamore (VOTE)
Duo won the D-I doubles state title with a 6-3, 6-3 win over the Toledo St. John’s brother duo of Kevin and Ryan Brown. That came on the heels of a huge 7-6 (7-5), 7-6, (7-4) state semifinal win over New Albany’s Alex Kobelt and Charles Cash.
