WEEK 8 BOYS TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
*Zach Berry, Springboro
Senior became a four-time state qualifier and won his second straight D-I district singles title with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Mason’s Luke Tsai. Berry’s win also gave him the school record for career wins (105).

Senior notched a big northwest Ohio win over St. John’s Rajeev Laungani.

Defeated Olentangy’s Austin Karbler and Dublin Jerome’s Ryan Worthen.
*Matthew Brumbaugh, Milton-Union
Beat Seven Hills’ Zach Abraham.
*Blaine Carr, Pickerington North
Defeated Hilliard Davidson’s Chris Codogni and Dublin Coffman’s Bryan Yoshino.
*Luke Oaks, Troy
Junior won his third straight D-I Troy sectional title when he defended his singles championship with a 6-0, 6-2 win in the finals. Oaks won a sectional title in doubles as a freshman.
TEAMS OF THE WEEK
Aves traveled to the Northeast and returned unscathed. Sycamore beat Hudson (5-0) and Copley (4-1).
Trojans improved to 5-0 with four wins last week (over Lebanon, Tecumseh, Fairborn and Northmont).
The Indians went 3-0 last week with wins over Wadsworth, Solon and Avon.
The Elks won the MVTCA Coaches Cup championship with a 46-41 win over runner-up Springboro. Centerville had entrants in all five finals and won three titles.
The Bombers went 6-0 last week, remained unbeaten (13-0) and won the GCL South tournament title (with three 5-0 wins over Elder, Moeller and LaSalle).
The Cougars, who went 7-0 in Northern Lake League dual matches, captured their second straight NLL Tournament title by winning four of five individual championships.
