Junior pitcher threw a four-hitter and K’d 16 in a complete-game 13-5 win over Arlington in a D-IV district final.

Bulldogs improved to 27-3 won their first district title since 2008 with an 11-5 win over Tallmadge in D-II.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
*Caleb Fergusen, West Jefferson
Senior struck out 27 batters in shutout wins over Bexley (2-0) and Urbana (7-0).
*Bryant Shellenbarger, Mount Vernon
Sophomore threw a no-hitter and hit for the cycle in a 21-1 win over Franklin Heights. Shellenbarger was 4-for-5 with seven RBIs. He hit a two-run HR in the second inning, a two-run triple in the third, a three-run double in the 4th and a single in the 4th. On the mound he worked out of a bases loaded no-out jam in the third.
*Konner Klein, Akron Ellet
Senior threw a perfect game and K’d 11 in a 12-0 win over Akron North.
*Jacob Servidio, North Olmsted
Threw a no-hitter (and had a double and two RBIs) in a 9-0 win over Steele.
*Ethan Caudill, Seneca East
Threw a complete-game two-hit shutout and K’d 16 in a 3-0 win over Mohawk. Enters week with 0.19 ERA and 81 Ks.
*Travis Smith, Portsmouth West
Threw a no-hitter and K’d five in a 9-0 win over South Webster. Also went 2-for-4 at plate.
*Clay Hayes, Waterford
Connected for a two-out sixth-inning grand slam that gave the Wildcats a 4-3 lead and eventual upset win over Trimble. Hayes also pitched the seventh to pick up the save.
TEAMS OF THE WEEK
The Rockets had 21 hits en route to 21 runs in a 21-2 win over Fostroia St. Wendelin. Alex Osborn led P-G with four hits (three doubles) and six RBIs.
Redskins won their eight straight WCSM St. Henry Bank Invitational title with an 8-3 win over Russia.
Beavers jumped 20 spots in the PBR Ohio/JJHuddle D-I state poll (from 47 to 27) thanks in part to sweeping a doubleheader with Centerville. Also split a doubleheader with Bellbrook (lost 2-1). Enter week tied for first in GWOC Central at 4-0.
The Senecas went 5-0 last week, including a big win over McComb.
Playing in its first OVAC Baseball Championship, the Redskins won their first title aith a 9-1 victory over Shadyside in the 2A final. Caldwell beat Toronto in the semifinals.
The Eagles beat three-time defending league champion Leipsic 6-0 to win their first outright Blanchard Valley Conference baseball title since 1994.
The Bearcats beat Portsmouth Clay in the D-IV sectional finals to win their third straight sectional title.
