Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards

This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.

Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.

How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.

WEEK 6 BOYS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Mario Caito, Solon (VOTE)
Scored six goals and had an assist in a 16-9 win over North Canton Hoover.

*Kyle Anspach, Mentor Lake Catholic (VOTE)
Goalie made 17 saves in a 2-1 win over Stow.

*Georgie Fovel, Seven Hills (VOTE)
Has scored 61 goals and dished out 17 assists this season.

*Paul Columbro, Westlake (VOTE)
Senior has accounted for 26 goals and 29 assists this spring.

*Austin MacDonald, Oakwood (VOTE)
Has 46 goals and 38 assists this spring.

*Brian McElveen, Loveland (VOTE)
Senior captain has accounted for 70 points this season (46 goals.24 assists).

*Tyler Hegyesi, Sycamore (VOTE)
Junior captain scored five goals in a 10-9 win over Indian Hill. Has 38 goals and 26 assists this season.

WEEK 6 BOYS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES

*Mentor (VOTE)
The Cardinals ran win streak to seven with victories over Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin and Lake Catholic.

*Westlake (VOTE)
Demons reached the 10-win plateu last week by going 3-1 with wins over Orange, Bay and Brecksville-Broadview Heights.  Lone loss was 6-5 in OT to Columbus DeSales.

*Worthington Kilbourne (VOTE)
Wolves bounced back from a tough three-game losing streak to post a pair of wins over Olentangy and Mason

*Olentangy Orange (VOTE)
The Pioneers went 3-1 last week with wins over Delaware Hayes, Hilliard Darby and Watterson. Lone loss was 12-11 to Strongsville.

*St. Edward (VOTE)
The Eagles ran their win streak to five with a pair of road wins at Avon Lake and Green. St. Edward is now 7-1 on the road.

*Columbus DeSales (VOTE)
The Stallions ran their win streak to seven with wins over Pickerington Central and Turpin.

*Hudson (VOTE)
The Explorers went 3-0 and reached the 10-win plateau with victories over Shaker Heights, Strongsville and Medina.

*Revere (VOTE)
The Minutemen went 2-0 and improved to 8-1 in their last nine games with wins over Canton Cnetral Catholic and West Geauga.

*Seven Hills (VOTE)
The Stingers ran their win streak to three and snapped Wyoming’s five-game win streak with a 7-6 OT victory. Seven Hills has won five of its last six.

*Strongsville (VOTE)
The Mustangs bounced back from a loss to Hudson to post impressive road wins at Benedictine and Olentangy Orange.
