Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards
This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.
Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.
How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.
WEEK 4 GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
*Monica Albertson, North Canton Hoover (Vote)
Senior scored eight goals in a 14-5 win over Brunswick.
*Taylor Thomas, Massillon Jackson (Vote)
Goalie made 13 saves in a 10-8 win over Hathaway Brown.
*MacKenzie Hitchcock, Medina (Vote)
Had three goals and five assists in a 16-4 win over Revere.
*Kylie Kayser, Dublin Coffman (Vote)
Senior had nine points (six goals and three assists) in wins over Hilliard Bradley and Olentangy Liberty.
*Sarah Vanadia, Medina (Vote)
Sophomore scored four goals in a 12-5 win over Massillon Jackson.
*Ellie Wood, Watterson (Vote)
Junior has scored 47 goals through nine games. Had a season-high eight against Hilliard Darby and has scored seven three times.
*Maddie Holvey, Revere (Vote)
Senior scored 18 (points (17 goals) last week in games against Medina, Stow-Munroe Falls and Kenston. Has 39 goals seven games.
WEEK 4 GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
*Pickerington Central (Vote)
The Tigers ran their win streak to eight with victories over Hilliard Darby (21-10), Pickerington North (15-12) and Granville (12-4). The win over rival Pick North was the program’s first ever and clinched at least a share fo the program;s first ever league title (OCC Ohio Division). The Tigers have won a program-record 11 games this spring.
The Aves improved to 10-0 with wins at New Albany (17-7) and Mariemont (19-1) and over Upper Arlington (10-4).
The Bees went 4-0 last week with wins over Revere (16-4), Kenston (16-3), Massillon Jackson (12-5) and New Albany (15-8).
*Chagrin Falls (Vote)
Rebounded from season’s first loss to go 3-0 last week with wins over Kent Roosevelt (19-9), Hawken (20-13) and Walsh Jesuit (17-14).
*Columbus Academy (Vote)
Vikings won a pair of road games at New Albany (12-9) and Granville (19-10).
*Toledo Notre Dame (Vote)
The Eagles improved to 6-0 with wins over Sylvania Southview (14-4), Toledo St. Ursula (18-10) and Maumee Valley CDS (17-8).
