Bucknuts & JJHuddle Ohio HS Weekly Spring Awards
This spring we are pleased to announce that JJHuddle and Bucknuts have partnered together to award weekly player and team of the week honors in baseball, softball, girls track, boys track, boys tennis, boys lacrosse and girls lacrosse.
Each week during the spring sports seasons, we will hold a fan-generated contest on JJHuddle to tab a weekly Team and Player of the Week in each sport. Each weekly winner will receive an award from JJHuddle and Bucknuts.
How it works?
A thread soliciting nominations will be posted/stuck in each sports JJHuddle Forum each week. Fans will then nominate top performances. We will announce the weekly finalists (up to 10) on JJHuddle every Monday and voting will be conducted in a special JJHuddle forum. Voting will cease at noon on Friday, after which the winners will be announced.
WEEK 3 GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
*Jaclen Moxley, Granville (Vote)
Scored six goals and had an assist in a 12-10 win over Hilliard Davidson.
*Karli Ring, Brecksville-Broadview Heights (Vote)
Made 12 saves in a 9-6 win over Avon Lake.
*Moriah Flyn, Mount Notre Dame (Vote)
Junior and Marquette commit leads the GCL in scoring with 58 goals and 10 assists in nine games.
*Ali Cargin, DeSales (Vote)
Senior scored 15 goals in four wins last week. Also had four goals in a 9-6 win over Bexley and four goals and an assist in a 14-4 win over Granville. In the Hannigan-Galipault Tournament at Thomas Worthington, Cargin had four goals in a 14-3 win over Fenwick and three goals in a 10-8 win over Pine-Richland (Pa.).
WEEK 3 GIRLS LACROSSE TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
*Dublin Coffman (Vote)
Shamrocks bounced back from first loss to win games against Hilliard Bradley (14-6) and Olentangy Liberty (13-11).
Tigers improved to 8-0 with wins over Lakota West (16-5), Lakota East (22-4) and Walnut Hills (15-2) last week.
*Thomas Worthington (Vote)
Ran win streak to five with wins over Olentangy Orange (14-5) and Hilliard Davidson (18-8).
*Pickerington Central (Vote)
Tigers ran their win streak to five with road wins at Dublin Scioto (13-12) and Westerville Central (21-7).
*Ottawa Hills (Vote)
Green Bears remained unbeaten with road wins at D-I programs Perrysburg (11-3) and Anthony Wayne (16-6).
The Lions ran their win streak to three with victories over Granville (19-5) and Watterson (8-6).
Facing their fourth Top 10 team in six games, the Bees improved to 2-2 against said foes and 4-2 overall with a 11-8 win over Chagrin Falls. It was the Tigers first loss.
